were we supposed to see something during the G-Man's introductory and final speeches?

Now that I have finished HL2 I have a question...

During the introduction and conclusion G-Man speeches, all I saw were flashing colors and sometimes just a black screen. I heard some sounds during the last speech, like the Gman closing the door of what would appear to have been a vehicle.

My guess is that there were some sequences there (similar to the G-Man's conclusion speech in HL1), and for some reason they were not played in my system. But again, it could have been that this is how those sequences were supposed to play, which I find hard to believe.

Is this normal or is it a 'technical' problem?, and if it is technical, to whom should I address this question?

Yea, there were pretty elaborate visual sequences. The opening sequence is mostly the G-Man's face with the electromass spectrometer from HL in the background. the closing sequence is the Dark Matter Reactor frozen behind the G-Man, then a totally black room that they G-Man exits through.

I'd contact Valve's tech support if you can't find a fix around here anyplace.
