WH40k: Space Marine extended trailer

Console exclusive...

Urge to rage rising.

Why no PC version? That's a good question.
Well we built the engine from the ground up for the consoles...

Wouldn't an engine for the 360 translate pretty easily to PC?

Yes.

This game looks pretty generic as far as gameplay will be anyways though. Can't see myself caring about it despite being a pretty big 40k fan.

I love 40k to death but this has me about as excited as Fire Warrior did - that is to say, not at all.

/goes and plays DOW2

Oh since you guys can bitch about this being console-exclusive, does that mean I can bitch about all the DoW games that are PC exclusive!?

It's not exactly as though this game type translates very well onto the PC, seeing as it's button-mashing based and analog-based.

If anyone of you guys have ever tried playing a Dynasty Warriors game on the PC you'd understand what I'm talking about.

I can handle button mashing on the PC, that's why I have an analog gamepad. If you wanna try to play Dawn of War on a console be my hypothetical guest, but I personally haven't been able to get more than 15 minutes into a console RTS in my life without wanting to murder somebody. Particularly with such a micro-heavy game as DoW.

I wouldve been sad of no PC version if it was an FPS, but this kind of button masher doesnt appeal to much to me...

PC has controllers too. We have everything.

'cept Space Marine

(note: I have no interest in this game anyway so I'm not fussed here nor there.)

i wont lie i love the 40k setting and cant wait for this.

Do not want.

Warhammer 40,000: Ultra Smurf does not appeal.

Also looks like dull as ditchwater DMC inspired melee heavy gameplay.

On the other hand, it is very pretty and captures the universe well.

40k is a pretty shit setting anyway. So over-the-top it's simply boring.

The only thing I don't like about 40K, is that everything is UNSTOPPABLE and the most powerful thing ever to exist.
But I do still love it.

I think it's highly arguable we need a Space Hulk-esque squad-based shooter with a Devastator squad against the Tyranids.

This should be OK though.

Not the Imperial Guard. Shit, I played against 2000pt imperial guard army with a 1000pt Tau army and wrecked them.

I'm pretty sure he's talking in terms of fluff (where the IG are the unstoppable sledge hammer of the imperium, orks without number smash a path across the galaxy, untold millions of Necrons prepare to exterminate all life in the galaxy, etc).

Whoever you were playing against must have been an incompetent fool, the current IG codex is rather powerful, to loose to a force 50% the size of his takes dedication.

Sounds like the IG player sucks. Although Tau are very, VERY powerful against IG since there isn't much option for melee (which is the Tau weakness). This is part of the reason I switched from IG to Tau back when I played tabletop, although mostly it was because I got sick of painting Catachans and knew there were another few hundred models more to paint if I wanted a decent army.

Frankly all it took was some coordinated firepower on his tanks. In two turns I had destroyed his two best tanks with my Crisis Battlesuit squads. From there on it was essentially a matter of mopping up the fodder.

Yeah those goddamn battlesuits are the whole problem. I dunno about the new rules edition (I stopped playing a few years ago, iirc they released a new edition of 40k since then) but back in the day I hated my friend's broadsides and XV8s with a passion because they could annihilate my tanks with ease and without tanks the Imperial Guard are pretty much just... as you say, cannon fodder. My Basilisks are too sexy to die goddamn it!
