Whacha gonna do when they come for you vista?

What is that?! It looks exactly like Vista..

Its out? WTF?

I remember seeing a video of this.

This looks kick ass.

Are you feeling alright Shammie?

I'll post the same thing I did over at hetairia...

You do know OSX has pretty much 90% of those graphical effects...right? Vista will have some also.

I mean it's awesome and all...but nothing along the lines of mind blowing.

80% of the features look completely useless, and mac OS X already has 15% of the non-useless ones. Respec for playing enemy territory tho.

Most useful feature by far is the rotating desktop. I would use that so much, I must have at least 18 windows opened at all times.

Ooooo...ET is for osx and liunx also? D: I didn't know that.

don't think windows has the spinning cube thing

I remember some professors from the university interviewed me. He asked me what is my os? My answer was linux. Later, I received a bunch of scholarship. So the lesson is, never use Windows.

the cube is a gimmick.

what's the name of the movie they played on that PC? It looks cool

The only thing that is keeping me on Windows is the game support.

If Linux or Mac had a better game support this XP would be in the ****ing trash.

Same here. Actually that's pretty much the same for most gamers also, I bet.

.. because visual effects and similar things are the only new things in vista ? right lemmings, am i right ? let's all say how awesome os x and linux is, even though i bet most of you would struggle to extract a tar ball (containing source for an app), than compile it.. or do many mundane tasks on some *nix or *bsd distro.

/sarcasm. ;)

no flash on this pc so i can't watch, though i'm assuming it's just the same old tired xgl videos showing off things like the 'wobbly' effect and cube ?

neat-o.

tr0n and others, go buy a mac than.

it is for me

to destrukt: vista is mostly based around its graphical effects, just look at the system req's for it

no, it isn't mostly based around it's graphical effects.. and there is more to aero than than just glass.

once again, another person who is only looking on the surface, (as i've said) there is alot more to just how it looks.

here are 2 good starting points:

http://blogs.msdn.com/greg_schechter/archive/2006/04/02/566767.aspx
since when are system requirements really a valid source for determining what something is mostly based around ? except for videogames, and even than, only to an extent.

i've pretty much said the exact same thing several times and it never sinks in, here's one example of a post:

i guess i should just give up on this forum, you guys seem intent on just repeating clueless comments. :P

tr0n: 2 words, boot camp. ;)

oh yeh, boot camp obviously isn't a 'direct' answer, but it's getting closer, or go use parrallels or whatever.

3 words: Too much hassle.

Some people don't want two OS's on one comp and constantly have to switch between the two. They don't want to put up with the hassle.

Only way linux and unix is gonna get more games is if OpenGL is the most common standard (like it was back in the day) instead of DirectX. It has to offer more features right out of the box and bring more competition.

Like Kamakazie said, if Linux or Mac mad better game support my copy of XP will never see the light of day again.

Then again it already dosen't. lol

You've never ****ing seen Labyrinth?

My god man, you must see it NOW! It's just one of those essential movies. It was made in the eighties for Christ sake.

Wobbly windows looks kind of stupid and annoying. Rotating cube looks useful.

I'd use this OS if it had the game support too. Wish it did, I like the look of that OS.

I seriously coulden't care less about system intensive gimmicks there going to put in Vista. I bet they've spent all there time adding in heaps of useless crap and made a shitty OS.

I was testing the beta version for awhile its not bad, of course when its finalized as a retail product it will be alot more sufficient.

I hope thats not what Aero Glass looksl ike, it looks useless and has no function other than to annoy
