So, a ton of extremely high-cost high-production AAA games are coming out November for the PC and 360. Which will you be picking up? If it's not listed, post it!

ed: If a mod could switch the poll to multi-option some how, that would be extremely well appreciated!

This thread includes the Xbox360! (I know, the thread title fails).

I'll be getting Assassin's Creed on my 360...that's about it

Assassin's Creed isn't an 07 PC game. It won't be released until 08 :P. Mass Effect isn't even PC.

There quiet few games I can hardly wait.

SOF-PB
COD-4
Timeshift
Simcity-S
FEAR-PM

Well,i have yet to be disappointed by Bioware.
So,Mass Effect of course.

Hellgate London... even though the demo was shit and every video I've seen has been shit, I still want it.

Other than that, I think it's just Mario Galaxy next month... which doesn't even get a mention! For shame!

(Jade Empire was Bioware and that was horrible!)

I wasn't thinking along the lines of Nintendo really. Must be because I don't have a Wii and that makes me very upset, considering Galaxy and Brawl look incredible.

The beta players get to play the retail gold version of the game tonight, and I must say everything is vastly improved from the demo. Everything from the actual performance of the game to the fluidity of the interface and combat seems improved.

I still question their subscription model though - seems they are going out on a limb to compete with WoW even though the other games in their genre are free-to-play or pay for content models.

Crysis tbh.

CoDmod comes quite a close second though just because I feel like a dumb shooter with immaculate multiplayer.

That's good to hear. And I don't really see anything -wrong- about their subscription thing as I don't even want to play the multiplayer as of right now. But if it actually makes me want to play online and then is able to make me want the extra stuff... then cool. The burden is really on them to get people to want it. They'll have to do better than more character slots, bigger stashes, and masochistic game modes, though... a lot better.

UT3 is the only one I care about.

I too, am EXTREMELY excited for UT3. Competitive gaming needs to make a comeback. I also was quite in love with the editing tools / mutators and the variety of content the community for the previous UT games established.

Crysis tbh.

I'll probably pick up CoD4 for the MP as well. And because the CoD games have a wonderful way of making everyone around me believe actual battles are happening if I blast them on my 5.1 surround.

I guess I'm one of the few that's excited for Kane and Lynch, I just need my brutal-narrated Hitman style shooter fix.

I'm excited about K&L alright, because I loved Blood Money, I love odd-couple double-acts, and I love criminals who look like they should be in retirement homes.

But I also don't really trust I/O to necessarily deliver a good game - although the Hitman games have steadily increased in quality to the point where Blood Money was practically perfect, I wouldn't take it on faith that branching into an entirely new style of gameplay is going to work out well. So re Kane and Lynch I'm 'cautiously optimistic'; I won't get excited until the review scores start hitting the stratosphere.

Crysis and CoDmod, meanwhile, are getting good word of mouth and press coverage both already.

CoDmod. Man, I love saying that,

The art style and trailers / previews so far have pushed me over for K&L. However passionate you are about odd-couple double-acts, multiply by ten. ESPECIALLY crime-drama double-acts. I don't even think that much "branching" will be done - considering it's a mostly open-ended shooter largely supported by it's crowd dynamic and NPC interaction. Though it could be done poorly - and that'd be a damn shame.

CoDmod will be good MP times no matter what - but I almost can't stand to buy it because of the mundane, droll single-player that makes a joke out of fresh-in-our-minds-and-media military conflict. That said I'll probably cave and get a chubby as I mow down countless generic middle-eastern rebels equipped with peon mob mentality AI.

Assasins creed, but for the ps3, not the pc.

Does UT3 have any cool new gametypes? I suspect so, I just haven't heard... any shooter multiplayer seems pretty bland next to TF2 to me recently. CoD4 has those sort of RPG elements to it which sounded kinda cool, though.

Yep, UT3 features the new "warfare" game type (imagine 3 or so of the vehicular maps from 2K4 linked up, featuring more players and varied objectives with more unique vehicles, and easier communication / transportation to hotspots). At least this is what they advertised, who knows if the new game type will get any good hosts. 2k3/2k4's vehicular gameplay was largely a failure on the server side of things.

ed: from the wiki

Wikipedia said:
Unreal Warfare (formerly known as Conquest): New to the UT series, maps will be potentially as big as three Onslaught maps, and will have objectives similar to Assault maps. A limited form of resource management will exist in the form of tarydium mines or fields that must be captured; the more a team captures, the faster it can build vehicles and turrets, and the more bunkers it has the more tarydium it will need. Bunkers will possibly serve a similar purpose to power nodes in Onslaught. A similar mode of play was also in the game Command & Conquer: Renegade. A significant amount of details regarding Unreal Warfare have changed since "Conquest" was first announced, so it is possible that this form of resource management no longer exists.

Also Vehicle CTF and Duel are official game-types now. But the most popular gametypes will probably be created by the community itself, I should hope.

Bwhehe, it's not often one hears that. :D

Usually it's something along the lines of "dreaded RPG features". But CoD seems to be doing it semi-tastefully (and doesn't have a long standing rep for realism). :E

Aye. Indeed apparently the multiplayer RPG elements mostly convey modern warfare better than the SP games; you get to call in airstrikes and suchlike.

I should note that I too am pretty appalled by CoDmod's completely unironical take on war in which people are dying right about now. Hey kids! Iraq's a fucking thrillcoaster! Wheee! It wouldn't be so bad if the game wasn't literally a theme park ride.

Alas, I am weak and I like to shoot nazis. Er, ultranationalists.

Mass Effect Mass Effect Mass Effect.

If I buy only one game next month, that will be it.

Im psyhced over K&L as well babyhead, the art style and story just kicks so much ass. Im sure the multiplayer will be boss too.

Kane and Lynch: Dead Men
UT3
Assassin's Creed (eventually)

HG: London and Crysis will depend on reviews. Plus Quake Wars from a 8800GT, and I haven't even got the Orange Box yet

Assassin's creed, simply because it looks like its going to be damn good.

Mass Effect. (360)

Possibly Crysis if I ever bother to download the demo.

Assassin's Creed, but for the 360 seeing as its out on the PC next year.

Then possibly;
COD4
UT3
Crysis

then..uhh..thats it. Everything else looks shite to me.

After the huge disappointment of the UT3 demo, that's off my list until they un**** the game.

CoD4's on hold too as they're really selling the multiplayer as something worthwhile, so I'm hoping they'll finally release an MP demo for this installment.

Kane & Lynch I know nothing about besides that it's made by the Hitman series guys.

I'm pretty much waiting to properly demo most of the games on that list.

Assasin's Creed is the title I look forward to the most. I might also get CoD4 and Gears of War (PC).

UT3
Assassin's Creed when it's on PC
Crysis
maybe Kane & Lynch

They kept Onslaught mode on UT3 right ?
Also what's wrong about the demo ? I loved the vehicle CTF map.

If they seem to be good I will be getting all of them (if available on pc).

Assassin's Creed, but I hafta wait till the PC version.
