What about Twin Peaks

In the interview of Alan Wake they said that Remedy was inspired by Twin Peaks. Now it gets me wonder, is this serie any good and what is it about

Yeah, I read this in an article a while back and downloaded Twin Peaks. And to be honest, I have no clue what I downloaded, is it a series or a movie or both? Because I personally thought it was a movie??

It was a TV series back in the day- sposed to be pretty good i think. And i wouldn't be surprised if a movie was made of it.

Twin Peaks was a TV series that lasted two seasons before getting canned. A movie was released in '92 and served as a prequel, but was just as strange and baffling as the series, if not moreso. It's been recommended that people get acquainted with the series before seeing the film.

It essentially revolves around the murder of a girl named Laura Palmer. That's really all I can say. Its strangeness will either turn you on or put you off. You should give it a shot and see how it suits your tastes. I'm about midway through the first season and I'm still not quite sure how it sits with me. But I always find something of worth in Lynch's work. And like most of his films, it's likely that appreciation will increase upon subsequent viewings.

I like it. The first season is the best, the second season loses focus about half-way through and becomes more action orientated as oppose to being concerned with the characters like the first season was.

Apparently ABC was putting a lot of pressure on Lynch to resolve who the murderer was and the final resolution disappointed a lot of fans. Then they tried a bunch of drastic moves to get it back on track again. Lynch was already moving away from the series, pissed off at how it had been butchered.

Twin Peaks was an amazing show. I got the first season on DVD a couple days ago.

Is there any paranormal stuff, or is it just a 100% realistic serie ?

There is most certainly paranormal stuff. From the beginning though it feels like it's not paranormal at all. It slowly descends into extreme strangeness. I watched the whole thing when it was new on TV and went back and rented all of the episodes from Blockbuster several years ago. I haven't seen "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" yet.

I usually despise Lynch's stuff, but Twin Peaks was something I really enjoyed. They would have been best served to keep it to one season though and have a more concise ending. But that's just my opinion. It was my understanding that the network forced Lynch to stretch it out since it was such a big moneymaker. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, there's some paranormal stuff. I don't want to spoil it but Aliens are apparantly involved.

it's David Lynch ....nuff said ..definately not for everyone, although I liked it

the movie came out after the series
