I´ve heard that valve is gonna start pay for steam and 1.6 !?
Is that correct ? If you really belive that everyone out there gonna pay for cs 1.6 you wrong.. If we say that it´s 10 million cs gamers out there (not actually the correct number but anyway) i would guess that about 200.000 gamers think that 1.6 is a good version. And about 1 million who think it´s a avarage mod that you could play if you don´t have anything else to play. The rest think it sucks .. i have no idea why you guys at valve ever could think about charging us for playing that shitty game .. Sure keep 1.6 BUT also keep the won servers so we other can keep on playing 1.5 ..If you remove 1.5 i´ll stop playing... Almost everyone in the swedish cs community will stop play...And i don´t know how large that number will be but i would guess that it´s between 500.000 and 1 million gamers .. I have no idea.. i just wanted to say that KEEP 1.5 !!!!!!! It´s just you guys at valve that are in the deep shit in the end ..

How about no, headcrab. If you own HL/CS etc. you won't have to pay for it, you can, however, pay a subscription to play any and all valve products, say if you don't own any. Do a search first!

First, This thread is off-topic.

Answers; VALVe will keep Steam and CS completely free of charge so you wont have to pay to play.
And they will remove 1.5 quite soon, i just think that they are working on some kind of update so that cs is less buggy.

of course ur going to have to pay for HL2 its a totally separate game.
As far as i can make out the subscription system is going to be for full games that you dont already own. ie if you want to d/l hl2 and pay for it via a subscription u can ,OR you can go out and buy the game in a store.
All they are doing is giving you the convenience of not having to trek to the shop and d/l it from the comfort of ur own home.
