Anyone know any good drama films? Something that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the movie and that always keeps you guessing.

Some drama's I like:

Requiem for a Dream
Crash
Taken
Shawshank Redemption
Goodfellas(sort of crime but meh)

TIA:thumbs:

The Last Castle, although it turns into a slightly actiony movie towards the end.

lol at Taken.

lol meh i really liked it....probably because when i watched it i was on my co-op in a different city and had no cable tv for 4 months...any form of movie was highly entertaining for me.

I like it too, but you have to have some pretty loose criteria if you think Taken qualifies as a drama.

Los amantes del Círculo Polar

;(

Hotel Rwanda is also good.

I think you're confusing 'drama' with 'mystery/sci fi.'

Hm, clearly i'm misunderstanding genres lol

basically any drama/thriller/action that keeps you guessing and puts you on the edge of your seat...good example would be law abiding citizen

Plays out like a shitty movie.

If you haven't seen it already you could check out Deja Vu. It's a sci-fi/action/thriller.

Or maybe "Impostor". Again sci-fi/action/thriller.

The first Matrix is quite awesome.

I'd also recommend Saving Private Ryan.

The Matrix may be a good film but it's not a good drama film, I don't think.

Why the **** do people think Law Abiding Citizen was a good film? Had I paid to see it in a cinema instead of torrenting it I would have walked out.

The characters were stupid and one dimensional, the plot uninteresting and absurd (why would the prison let them bring the man outside for a minute to punch him without anyone watching), what a predictable scene too.

Why would anyone even do that, the whole premise for the film is shit.

So is your understanding, silly goose!

Are you so sure?

My understanding of a drama film are those that focus heavily on the sophisticated development of characters dealing with themes and situations on an emotional level, and being forced to face conflict both internally and externally. Admittedly, as I said, that's quite a loose definition. Unless I've been taught wrong. Severely wrong.

I was under the impression that the first Matrix did that, and did that quite well.

Of course, I could be entirely ignorant. Do enlighten me.
