Besides from hardware and money spending I'll be, over the next week:
Saturday: 1) Calling work and telling them I can't go in because I'm sick
2) Going into town to do some clothes shopping
3) Getting incredibly drunk
4) Going to a party
5) Getting even more so incredibly drunk
6) Meeting a nice lady, and having my wicked way with her

WAITING for gabe to say some thing and tell us about the game and that it will be released and in our hands the 30th. I think us and gabe share the same anticipation/ anxiety. I just hope he comes here and tell us first since we are by far the most dedicated to HL2. I was gonna get either a Connect3D or a Sapphire as they were exactly the same price. Obviously as the PRO is still quite expensive and I'd heard that the 9800's were good to OC to a PRO I decided I'd go for the cheaper option.
Then SgtIgneri recommended the Sapphire, so I ordered it this evening. I will bookmark the link for when the card arrives, I'll let you know the results.
I'd want to know how much improvement I've made, is there anyway I can diagnose the performance of the card before and after the OC?
Am I likely to need any more cooling in the case if I use that 9800np>pro guide?

I'm been cramping my fingers over my xbox, jesus finally beat Otogi Myth of Demons, second to last level was kicking my ass for past week. Just beat halo again.. i've beat it at least 200 times no exagerration. Keep watching donnie darko, keep checking these forums and various other sites.. sleeping, reading, school school and more school and homework, picking up a crapload of brances from hurricane isabel and leaves and cut down a tree today... hrmph. Oh and don't forget about pr0n! =P.

To Chris: When you flash the bios the main thing you need to cool the memory chips; almost everyone I chatted with on overclocking/tweaking forums suggested adding Tweakmasters BGA ramsinks, they shouldn't cost that much in the UK, they go for 40€ here in france, you will need 8 of them apparently : )
And to measure performance, well you can always do it manually with your games monitoring FPS. Or you can try 3DMark2001 and 2003, or even Aquamark 3. Good luck Chris

No, really I am studying my ass off. My first round of tests are the first week of October. That means I won't be able to play much HL2 the first week it comes out.
Oh, I also tried buying some rocket skates from this "Acme" corporation. Their products are so shitty, it amazes me. You would think a company that has been around THIS long would test their products more efficiently. When I turned them on, my legs went OPPOSITE ways, and in the end I was tied up by my own legs. The surgery bill alone made me take out another mortgage on my house. Will they fit the bill? NO.

School, OP4 again, Sly Cooper, the forums, and Desert Combat.
And I flashed my 9700 to 9700 pro, and as a sort of experiment I decided not to apply any heatsinks until it started acting funky. Its been at least a week so far and no problems, so I think the standard cooling is working well enough.
