This is my only favorite. HL2central isnt bad.

I don't visit many hl2 sites. This place is at the top of my list, second only to Planethalflife.com

Sorry to drag it out again but i saw on another post you were accused of being negative and all that crap, if you visit PHL the most no wonder, they are the greatest force out there for stopping all urges to buy this game, the sooner they overhaul and start again the better.

My perceived negativity is only a reaction to the harassment I recieve here from memebers such as Spiff and Shuzer.
I do not find PHL to be a negative entity at all, I find them to be the source of the most reasonable information in the hl2 community. While it is true they are not optimistic about things such as release dates, history has shown that optimism is rarely warrented in such situations, but the safer outlook is to be skeptic. This site, for instance, is overly optimistic IMO, which only leads to long threads bashing people who think the game might be delayed further, and greater let downs when the game finally is delayed. This is why I put PHL in higher reguards.

i cannot agree with you. The forums are incredibly unreasonable and overbearing, there is very little free flow of nideas as anyone who starts to voice opinions that run against the sites policy is locked down. More and more they point to their rules about their site being a private site where the only rules are their own. They all seem to have gotten far too bitter and it is hurting their website.

It's a frigging game, if you talk about history and safety then you need to re evaluate what you are waiting for. I'm guessing you have something else missing in your life because those aren't the kind of terms i would want any of my friends using with regards something so escapist. I have posted stuff ranting about how important it is but it has always been tongue in cheek and always has been optimistic because there is no reason not to be, if i was wrong, who cares? some jackass on a website will go ohhh they have betrayed us, lets boycott, and i'll say ****it man i'll go take a walk, go for a drive, take the gf out for a meal and when i remember i want this game so bad i'll see if the shops have it.

Pseudonym, I have to say this: you say we gets angry/riled up at your statements that the game will be further delayed. I don't see it this way, it seems to me that you get angry/riled up when someone states an optimistic view, that they think HL2 will be out and blah blah blah.
For instance, in the thread cybersh33p made, your first statement was a direct insult towards VALVe and release dates, and was all together negative. Thus, people start flaming you for making such a short statement with nothing but that to go on alone, and so the chain begins.
I don't think anyone minds a pessimist, but, when you go as far as to try to "show" people WHY the game could be delayed based on history alone, well, that doesn't warrant a very straight forward and friendly conversation.

What are you talking about? Sure, Fragmaster is a bit of an arse, more than a little up himself and sometimes relies on this site for news whilst childishly insulting it at the same time, but (in spite of that vast list) calling the site a force to stop people to buy the game? Excuse me? For me a the main advertisement would be the communities attitude that these fan sites provide. PHL has created a bunch of cowed and superficial members ruled by anti valve facists. Many people here have been unfairly persecuted by their mods, some deserved it some didn't, i sure as hell didn't and that i can asure you of, i voiced a single opinion against Impellios and my post was removed, i was banned, and he responded to a hypothetical post i made using fake quotes!

Yeah... The reason they are gettin heckled so much here is IMO the amount of shit they have doled out to decent foumers that has finally ****ed them up because of HL2 sites that have popped up to cater for real gamers as opposed to whiny whipping boys.

I think most of the ppl being kicked/banned had it coming, that includes me I have been kicked from the quakenet room and banned quite a few times, however thats okay cuz I had it coming IMHO.
Back on topic: This is definetly my fav forum/hl² url. I do go to the others once in a while but everything I need is here usually. Only the legal stuff though :-P but thats fair enough.
