What made you want to get this game or want to play it? For me it was watching the pure pwnage video's, I mean FPS Doug just kicks ass :afro:

Uuuhm... hmm... well I heard Condition Zero was a good game so I got that (was on 56k) and the bots were great. Heard good things from Source so I pre-ordered HL2 straight away so I could play it.

still love it to this day :)

Um, nothing really. I heard about the original CS, good things, but never really took interest. Then I bought HL2 and thought I'd try CS:S out.

I was bored and it was there. That's how I get into a lot of the games I play.

My friend showed me the original CS way back and it looked cool, I decided to get into it and had some fun, also played cz for a bit. When CS:S came it was a natural move forward :)

I got it through HL2 and decided it was better than the original, couldnt play the original cause of a damn patch.

Someone told me, I played CS for a while and was quite good, but soon enough it dulled out on me.
Much time passed CS:S came out I tried and I liked it more. Been playing it on and off now, but it has won a place in me. It's just something about it that has a good feeling to it.

I used to play 1.5 all the time at a cybercafe. Then my friend gave me his CS and I played 1.6 for almost a year at home before buying HL2. So I was always a CS fan.

my friend brad was hardcore into it so I tried it out and found that it was exactly what I wanted in a game

Its alot funner if you get good at it, join a clan, and play in matches. It feels great to play one and win :)

If CSS hadn't of come with HL2, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

It's way to flawed a game to be something i'd purchase standalone. The only time I find it fun is when i'm either on a "pro" server (tons of teamwork there) and when i'm playing with people I know. When you've got either one of those two going, it's a load of fun :)

So yeah, I wasn't drawn to CSS at all. It's not one of those artistically beautiful games like HL2, where you're actually WANT to buy it. It's one of those games that's like "oh , whatever, comes with this free, not too shabby a game either, no point complaining about free stuff", as opposed to "OMFG I Just HAVE to get this game!".

I've played CS since beta 6.

Possibly before that, because I remember the M4 having a scope and a silencer.

I've been on and off on all HL mods. Get bored with CS, go to DoD. Get bored with DoD, go to NS. And then end up at CS later, only to repeat the cycle. Then CS:S comes out and I already bought the silver package because it was the best deal.

Well i didnt buy Counter Strike Source, i wanted half-life 2. And first i played hl2 and then i tried css, i didnt even like it, cause i was so love in America's Army(its a gem if u didnt know) but then i forced my self to play css.. And finally i learn to like it.

Random purchase at Babbages late in my freshman year of high school, before I played hardly any games at all. I'd only heard of Half-Life because it was in a PS2 magazine I randomly got in the mail once. It had an ad that showed the soldiers and helicopters on the cliffside, look awesome, so I picked up HL for PS2. Loved it. Was just looking around babbages and noticed Counter-Strike, saw that it came with a lot of other Half-Life games, so I picked it up. Played it (v 1.3), loved it, got a few friends to get it too, bought the rest of the HL games, and been playing ever sense.

That game turned me into a PC gamer. When I bought it I had a crappy wal-mart 1.2ghz Celeron processor 128mb ram integrated graphics computer, and now I've had my lovely 3.2ghz 1gb ram 6600GT and all other kinds of great stuff....just so I can keep playing the half-life series (and other spiffy shooters) the way its meant to be played.
