What can Valve do about Luzifers release?

I hope there is something they can do about it... although I haven't tried myself, it is supposed to work fine online on regular servers. That is an insult against those of us who have paid for our games, as a thanks to Valve for making a great set of games and so that they can continue to do just that.

im sure they are investigating the problems. and i dare say that they are compiling a rather large patch to cover a wide range of issues that they still have with the system. but i will agree with you that its sad that these things should happen. just going to have to wait and see what they come up with.

All these hardcore fanboys... Dead serious about everything when it comes close to valve :)

While I am not a hardcore fanboy, I am sure that they will make a change to Steam and CS to look for certain vasriables/keys, and if it does not find them, not let them play. They would just have to set up a changeable challenge/response mechanizm, and release regular changes.

It works online. Valve should release CS:S as standalone game for download over Steam and charge something like $6. A lot of people don't want to buy HL2 over Steam, but want to play CS:S right now.

Actually you would be surprised how much of those who play css cracked are cs fans that just have no creditcard, and slipped fel and accidentally downloaden css cracked and are acidentally plying it online until they can buy retail, in other words Valve should focus on making buying over steam more easier and with different methods, that would take away a large part of the problem.
