Dalamari's thread got me thinking about Queen and in particular, Freddie Mercury.

I would bring back Freddie Mercury and would have not have to think twice about it. His vocal range puts virtually all other male vocalists (and many many female vocalists) to shame. Plus he seemed like such a nice, fun, caring guy. Thoughts?

Freddie for certain

Also, would be interesting to get Cliff Burton from Metallica back, see what he would do with the band

Jimi Hendrix, something tells me he had a lot more that he didn;t get to finish

yeah...i get that feeling too.
well, if everyone gets to choose one then i'd be happy with Hendrix as my choice knowing someone here would choose Freddie Mercury.

Jim morrison, wouldve been cool if they squeezed out another the doors or LA Woman

I'm not sure if I would want Kurt Cobain back or not, I mean good musician... but he accomplished quite alot before his death.

Now Jimi Hendrix, on the other hand... his death came too soon, he definitely had alot more stuff to get out to the world.

Hendrix ftmfw.

Lennon or Cash. Cash was still making good music when he died, but who wouldn't want Lennon back?

I think In Utero was going to be nirvana's last album with or without Cobain also i think Dave Grohl was ready to move on as well( IE the foo fighters). Who knows what Kurt Cobain could've accomplished if he had beaten his habit and continued making music, but it was over as far as Nirvana was concered.

Hendrix, maybe. But I wouldn't wish a reserruction in this world on my worst enemies.

Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Jerry Garcia (just cause he was amazing), John Bonham (played the drums like no other), and Jim Morrison.

****. How the hell could I forget Elliott Smith. Goddammit.
Yeah, our generation has been deprived a great musician. Why couldnt we lose someone who wasn't a genius?

Kurt Cobain, if he was still alive maybe rock would have stayed mainstream for a while longer before rap killed everything.

John Lennon and George Harrison OR Jim Morrison and John Bonham

Kurt Cobain for sure.

Seems as he killed himself...i dont think he would be too chuffed at being brought back - he had a huge problem where he was before in the realm of celebrity and all that...it hasnt gotten any better for him.

I think he would kick you in the crotch...

I would bring Cliff Burton back just so he could sort Metallica out (or tell them to retire...)

You don't think Hendrix's times were any more turbulent?

Forgetting everyone who's already been said (whom i pretty much agree with all), it could be kinda cool to have mozart or beethoven, someone like that back, and see what they'de make for a new generation/ with new instruments to use

ps; hendrix killed himself too sabre001, he just used pills instead of a shotgun :p (took a massive overdose and choked on vomit in his sleep)

what a wuss

What a wuss for not killing himself with a shotgun, I think he means. :p

Anyone who doesn't have the balls to use a shotgun to kill himself shouldn't be considered a music legend.

/EDIT: thank you sulkduds

Just checking :p

Surely though taking a few handfulls of random, unkown pills would require more balls than just shooting yourself though? :E

Well, the whole 'suicide' part is a bit controversial. I don't normally link to sites like this... but it presents a lot of interesting information:

Anomalies Unlimited - The Murder of Kurt Cobain

So, I'd bring him back just to clear that up. Then, if it's false and he wants to do it again... fine.

Still, my first choices would be Hendrix and Mercury.
