I am interested to see what halflife2.net consider themselves to be (all lowlife geeks, just kidding!) I consider myself sort of a geek. I mean will attend real life social events rather than online events but I know the most about computers than all of my friends

I HAAAAAAAAAAaAAAAAAAAAAAAAATEEEEEEEEEEEE NERDS!!!!

Pretty sure most of us grew out of school-age subcultures.

Does that make us normals?

Normal I suppose, I like playing computer games and into other nerdy stuff but I play in a band and practice regulary, love sport like football, playing and watching and love going out with my mates. But kinda childish to be subcatagorising everyone.

I'm still in school :). I'm not particularly a fan of cliques, I'm just interested what they consider themselves to be. I've got nothing against goths, emos or geeks as long as their nice. Just a lightweight conversation. Nothing to take offense to.

I've noticed that stereotypes fade away as you get older except for extreme examples. So, normal.

Normal I suppose, since once you're out of high school people stop being a part of one group and develop more as an individual than anything like that. Though I didnt really have a classification when I was in school either, just kinda took something from every subculture. I played baseball, and American football as well as basketball sometimes. I played pen&paper rpgs (yeah like Dungeons and Dragons, only not, screw D20 systems), and I took a lot of computer classes. Emo didnt really exist back in my highschool days, but goths did. I never really took anything from them though, they were creepy.

Not at all offended, just slightly baffled. These cliques don't matter, nor exist, in 'real life' - nor even in the umbilical cord intermediary zone which is university. As such the poll is pretty much impossible for anyone who is not a part of any of these few narrow group - it really is a tiny minority of people who are identifiable with any of them, so everybody else really is 'normal'.

Subcultures to continue to exist, but not those ones - not even in school, these days. Geek, emo, goth? These bear no relation to reality, in or out of education! They're five years ago!

I was totally a nerd at school though. Normalised at sixth form. I'd like to be an indie kid but I don't have the clothes for it (or the legs).

I hate to label myself, but I guess I am the combination of a geek/weird artist/outdoorsman.

Probably the worst poll I've ever seen. Wait, don't hurt me! I have intelligent reasons to back up my statement:

Do we really need an emo option AND a goth option? As if HL2.net is swarming with them, and we need to keep those catagories seperate so we can accurately see how many of each we have?

You pointed out yourself that the sport fanatic option is not going to be voted, so that leaves us with Geek, Normal, and Other. Wow. Okay, most everyone here could be considered a geek, though it depends on your definition of the word. What the hell is 'normal'? Most everyone here would consider themselves normal, though again depending on their definition.

Don't you think you could have put a little more thought into this poll?

I'm leaving the geek option and moving into the jock option. I fail to see why that isn't likely.

Don't listen to Vageata, he always gets mad around 6:32 PM.

WRONG! I'm not a geek. And there's no way you or anybody else can prove I am. The only thing one can consider even remotely geek like about me these days is the fact that I am learning the programming language C#. That doesn't make me a geek though.

I've decided I'm actually a "gamer" :|

I don't seem to fit into any other category. So I decided to mix Geek and Normal.

The above post

If there was an option for loud jackass...

I have no friends who are girls who I see on a regular basis IRL. ;________;

Partially because it's SRS TEST SEASON nao and I go to an all-boys school, and partially because I'm a social recluse.

I consider myself in the normal category, but my friends and co-workers, even from when I was in elementary school, have pretty unanimously had different opinions. Other seems to fit the bill, but I couldn't say why.

I do love sports and I am fairly athletic, so screw you with the "not likely" part.

I would like to know what is young people's (teens) definition for a geek.
Does the enjoyment of hi-tech, science, some games and sci-fi movies make me a "geek"? Or you must be fat smelly unlikable loner with huge glasses and virtual/imaginary friends?
I considered myself to be a normal geeky person but some people use term geek as an insult.

Writing + Normal + Music + Arting things + Outdoors + Great drunk = too few poll options.

oh lawd double post sorry.

I consider my self a giant flying elephant. Well that or a really , really angry person.

I'd say i'm as normal as any bloke my age is, yet i'm a lot chunkier than most people my size + age.

I don't fall into any specific clique, but I'm definitly not normal.

I voted everything just because it's a checkbox poll.

Pretty sure that just makes me a... dick.
