to download regarding steam ?

for example i downloaded a steam installer a few weeks ago was only a few Mb's , now i go to the steam page and it lists individual games of serveral 100 Mb none of which i am going to play. why isnt there one for hl 2 ?

Erm HL2 isn't out yet. You can't download it.
