do you think the fire will beable to spread from on building to the next or how about from one tree to the next what do you think and what type of gameplay would do to use the fire to help you out?

Jeez nothings good enough for you is it.

After reading the valve info thread, apparently fire can spread between physics objects and npcs, as well as where it is scripted to, if you had fire spreading dynamicly through whole buildings u would have alot of sprite particles and other crap to deal with.

No kidding.. People here seem to demand not only the best game ever, but the best game ever for decades and more decades.. Like "zomg teh fire dosent spraed like in real life omg game sux why did i evah wanted it"

The fire on the zombies in the big e3 vid was a bit to 'animatey' in my opinion. Perhaps they've allowed the fire system more particles since then or updated it to spread less instantaneously.

(As in, the zombie catches on fire quickly but is not turned instantly from normal to 'onfire' mode.)

In my opinion some people don't even know what they want in a game. They see something like real-time lighting and decide that it has to be in a game for the game to be good. They don't reason that maybe current technology's real-time shadows don't look as natural as 'baked-in' ones or that it would be a real resource hog and not allow for other aspects of the game to excel.

Agreed, just because the tech is new doesn't mean its going to prove any better (at the moment at least) than the older stuff.

All I want is some fun gameplay and a multiplayer mode that isn't overran with cheaters a la CS and the like. If they can deliver that I will be 100% satisfied.

Im sure the fire will spread in every which way, especially if you have a mod specifically for welding things together and building things/destroying things.

ive just been playing painkiller.. utterly unhyped and almost no depth, the geometry is tosh and the maps extremely basic, but theres lots of little features added to the action and absaloutly fantastic gameplay lol, pinning people to walls with logs!! HURAH!!

yeah the stakegun in painkiller definately belongs in the best FPS weapons ever hall of fame

ya i just got the demo of it...the game is pretty good but the levels arent creative....and there is lots of monsters u gotta fight.

I just got Rick to answer my fire and electricity questions, its the most recent post in the info thread.

Plus, I don't like the stake gun because it takes so long to reload....and whats with the alt-fire? Why would a stake gun fire grenades?

I cant think of an answer to that, But do you really believe the realistic representation of the afterlife to be full of fat guys with tommy guns?
