Think about it, if T's were allowed to buy them, then that would even out the shield argument. Multive Cocktails would be the perfect way to own someone with a shield, and with source, the fire would be more than real enough.

You could start off by buying just a bottle with a rag, than by pressing second fire you set it aflame, then with primary fire you throw. You could do cool stuff like shoot the cocktail while someone is still holding it and damage them, or if you kill someone with it in their hand (granted it's lit) it will explode when they fall.

I think it would be an interesting way to even out the shielding.

just 2 things to say

1) learn to spell. its molotov
2) play a different game :p cs is a simple game, that would just ruin the whole flow of the game. Granted it would be a laugh to throw molotov cocktails at people, and to shoot them out of their hands, but it would be buggy, and stupidly easy for a random bullet to hit them and to explode. They will be Underbalanced and Overbalanced, and they would always seem crap, which ever one they were due to updates. Seriously, leave CS the way it is, if you wanna do all this stuff to it, learn to code and make your own halflife mods ;)

all things considered, i'd rather have a molotov cocktail...

It would have to leave them on fire for a little bit though. Unless it kills them instantly. Sounds like a good idea though if executed correctly on VALVe's part

multive cocktails sound like a good idea :D what are they like an all in one cocktail similar in nature to multivitamins?

sorry for the the bad spelling, i don't know my homemade weapons of light distruction. ;)

I think they should just make make it so you can shoot through the glass in the sheild for half damage, like in the beta days of 1.6.

You don't need new weapons you need real grenades. While I know realism is not the goal grenades should be a little stronger. A HE will not kill a unarmored guy with full health. And flashbangs never seem to work for me, I think that is my problem though.

Not like a random bullet will get headshots ;)

and Kittycat: Grenades would be retarded if they were any better, they are meant as support, and indirect damage, not as a primary lethal weapon.

Personally, I think the cocktails are a great idea, but we are each entitled to our own opinions, let the vote see what's more popular.

No, they are ment to punish campers. If you think someone is camping you throw a nade at them. This works if they are camping a door in aztec or if they are bringing their cover with them.

Only it doesn't work so well if the nades are as weak as thy are in CS. You couldn't use them as a primary weapons if they were stronger, the fact that you can't shoot while you have one out and the fuse makes it suited for targets who aren't going to move much.

If nades exploded on impact then they would be primary weapons.

I'm all for a molitov cocktail, and I had no idea nades were put in for the sole purpose of punishing campers.

with the hl2 engine it would be REALLY easy to make molotov cocktails...the flames could even jump from a burning person to another...no problem...

does anyone know why they took the molotov cocktails out in the beta stages?
i hope they bring em back.

oO the beta never had molotovs as far as i remember

it didn't?
hmm.. well i didn't play the beta but heard about the shield and molotovs so i assumed the beta had both.

...so light it up and let it fly away, a molotov cocktail, my dreams symbolized in flames...
Uhh, sorry, Dead Poetic song. :p

They were originally going to have them in CZ, back when you would be able to play as CTs OR terrorists and had the RPG and suicide belts. But then Valve was like "OMG WHO NEEDS MOLOTOVS WHEN YOU CAN HAVE SHIELDS INSTEAD LOLOLOLZ!!1"

The question is how much damage does it have to take how much does it need to cost , etc.

it should be pretty cheap IMO, i mean the cheapest wine bottle or beer bottle would do, and an old rag... realisticly it could go for 5 bucks, but it would need to be alot higher up in the CS world. Depending on how much damage it would do, it would be reasonable for it to be even or higher than a HE bomb.

In some games, when you start burning (AvP comes to mind) you have to run around to put it out or you slowly loose health. I wouldn't like this idea in CS, maybe it will slowly start to burn you until your in cover or out of a fire fight where your safe to press the 'use' button to stop-drop-and-roll. :p

I think the head on explosion (when near the target) should do slightly more than an HE, but the fire that remains on the target and on the envirement should do little, maybe burn all your armor (1-5 amounts every second), It should probobly eat all your armor off before it would even touch your health bar.
