Steam Subscription Package
(All Valve created games, forever)

Estimated retail price: £5.99 a month

This is not one way to purchase Half-Life 2 and it is not required if you buy a regular package in a store but it is one of many games you will get by subscribing to the Steam subscription package.

Steam is a broadband content delivery system and Valve are offering all their games (past, present and future) to download for just £5.99 a month. Games will be downloaded as files and there's no disks or manuals included.

This means instead of buying HL2 in a store you can download all Valve's current games such as Half-Life, Opposing Force, Counter-Strike, Blue Shift and future games too. These games will be HL2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike 2 and many more.

Overall in the long run you'll save a lot more money subscribing to this service instead of paying out for each individual package.

edit: doesnt all the other pacages (except singplayer only) come with all the mods and shit for free to? and if you get the mutiplayer package, then you can dl the mods like blue shift and shit for free too right?

I think they said that awhile ago. I'm not sure if they're still planning on doing that.

All it means is, if you get the subscription, you get every game VALVe has ever created.

If you buy the game, you may still play the game online, and DL user created mods.

If you have a HL CDKey, I think you'll still get OpForce, CS, HL and etc. Either way, all it means is that you get every game.
