Well, we all know what most of the world thinks about the USA (and with jolly good reason too), but what do the USAnians think about the rest of the world?

Come on all USAnians on these forums, tell us what you think about Belgium and Australia and the rest of the world!

=)

Belgium? Australia? Where are those? Are they countries? ;)

Yes! And especially USAnians that are among the 10% that believe that Elvis is still alive, come on I'm dying for your opinion on The Netherlands

Australia is a country AND a continent :E.

PS: Do you still have my wallet, [CoHn]FuSeD?

well i think its just dumb that many contries hate the people of america for what politics are reasonsible for, and i think every contry that is named has a certain sterotype, so far nearly every brit iv come across seems to think his country is better than mine or more "civilized" and that because of that reason he can tell me how much smarter he is or how arrogant we americans are. i agree we do have our nationalism but to a certain degree every citizen of a contry does. i actually dont have a sterotype for other europeans, prolly because i havent had one around to give me one.

in general we are all pretty similar(im sure most of us would havbe had no problem being friends if not for the language barrier) , but when it comes to politics and whos contriy could destroy another, people tend to be assholes.

EDIT: however im very glad i was born in the USA, i believe its the best place on the world for me and my personality, and im very proud of the men in our armed forces. i also think bush is doin an "ok" job.

Why do you wanna hear about what i think? So you can flame me for living in this country? Other places around the world are great but im so sick and tired of people hating on america cause its the "in" thing nowdays, so dont run around (if your not then ignore what im about to say) saying Im just a stupid american, playing your childish ego games that go like this: "my country is better than yours! im a better person than you and i think little of you cause someone i saw/know/f*cked someone who was american and he/she was stupid!" I think the rest of the world is great, take europe for example. Europe has a great idea with solidarity which keeps poverty at a low rate and more manageable. Unlike our government who allows kids to starve and die right underneath their noses then goes out and gives tons of money to someone in need in another f*ckin country. Im not gonna go on or ill explode, Im just gonna say we could learn alot more from each other and all be happy if everyone would just STFU and think about what we could learn from each other for a minute rather than run to a forum and bitch about how everyone hates this country or that one.

I like Belgium, they have great beer. I'd also like to try absinthe.

I'd really like to visit Australia, but I'd like to visit New Zealand even more. Not because of LOTR, but cause I heard it's a really interesting place. They have great snowboarding and surfing year round too, which is amazing. I also heard that the Kiwi chics are hot.

The rest of the world is ok I guess.

Oh, and if our president is supposed to be any sort of representative of our country, go ahead and bash us all you like. There was a time when our country was very forward-thinking and maybe something to admire, but not these days.

jeez those are countrys?? theres soooo TINY!!!! hahah j/k i like austria mate!1

cheers all! ;)
i think there pretty cool

I am not racist to anyone. I believe that all people are equal and will always be. I don't disrespect anyones opinions on life. I even consider placese like Iraq equal. Capitalism, Commuism, Sociallism, ETC. They are just different types of government. None change how a person behaves. I like everyone and I NEVER looked down apon anyone ever before and I NEVER will. Even if I don't agree with how a country is being run, I still think the people equal. I also think it's a BIG mistake for George Bush to attack Iraq.

 World Peace

i have nothing against other countries, and i never take for granted where i live. california is great, lots of things to do here and lots of freedoms. but im sure its fun in other countries as well

i visited germany once. and i turned on the tv in the hotel room in dusseldorf i think it was, and boom, there was porn lol, but no one had paid for it, it was FREE. and many channels of it. it was really strange to me, and would have been good except my whole family was in the room when i turned on the tv.

:bounce:

but someday id like to visit europe again and explore some places where ww1 or ww2 battles took place. lots of history on the soil over there

hmmm I think the rest of the world makes a lot more sense.. Too many people are blinded by patriotism here, of course i live in the south, so everyone here still hates anyone who isn't white (well ok not everyone, i know for sure i don't, but there is a big racist majority around here) I have a lot of respect for people in other countries and nations and what not... Considering, iraq for instance, being one of the earliest (if not the earliest) known brithplaces of civilization, I'm intrigued by a lot of cultures different from my own, especially asian culture. Truth be told, america is the new kid on the block really, but we act like we own the place, and its that kind of mentality that i don't agree with and i'm sure thats where a lot of the anti american sentiment stems from. But if all these people that hate us americans would just come here and see how nice most of the people here are, and contrary to popular belief open minded most are, they probably wouldn't hate us as much

You guys might hate us, but remember not everyones all about war and (Whatever else you guys hates us for) ;(

I wish I could afford to visit America. I would really like to see what its actually like over there!

I mean here in Britain the nasty newspapers just put you all in a bad light and insult Tony Blair for being allies with you. Which is just god damned weird!!!
(I don't like Tony much btw, but he is beter than any conservative.....(imho))

There are many things I think the USA have done wrong politically, but I can say the same thing about my country......

I don't like the idea of antiamericanism. It really pisses me off, because it just boils down to racism. Why hate Americans. Sure I don't have a problem with hateing specific Americans (i.e Bush) but don't just hate the people.....

It makes no sence...

*Sorry, if I went a little off topic kinda thing seen as this is suppost to be people from USA talking but I really wanted to get that off my chest*

I know exactly what you mean. I live in western North Carolina, where are you at? Things are even worse considering how many African Americans go to some of the high schools around where I live. When I was a senior at my high school there were 3.

Funny story- there used to be this black guy who I would pass everyday on my drive to school, he would wear a confederate uniform and hold a huge rebel flag. Pretty funny considering he was a black guy. There was even a news story on him once.

What do I think of Australia? I want to live there someday...

I live in kentucky, the funniest part is even though i don't think we were even part of the confederacy people around here seem to think we were, there were only three african americans in my school and two of them moved and one got expelled, i felt kinda sorry for them since they were such a minority but they were actually the most popular kids in the school, i mean everyone knew who they were... Racism really isn't that bad here, you have your groups, rednecks that ride around in their trucks with their rebel flags and listen to rap for some reason lol, wannabe gangstas who listen to rap and where hip hop cloths etc, preps who play sports and then goths and my group who are just average, listen to any kind of music except country and where normal cloths and talk to everyone..

And about our schools, where i live if your low income you can go to public school for free, even free lunches and everything, i think my highschool cost per year was something like 50 to 80 dollars for room fee and book rentals, plus like a 1.25 for school lunch a day :) not to bad really, the teachers are pretty good except most just read from a book and tell you what assignment to do. There are some really good ones and some really bad ones it just all depends

Haha, that's kind of funny... I think Kentucky WAS a slave state though... and were probably kept from joining the Confederacy...

the family guy summed it up best when peter was talking about the south...

"hey isn't that where the black guys are lazy and the white guys are just as lazy but hate the black guys for being so lazy" lol

Why can't people be more like us Canadians. Just sit back, be friendly, watch hockey, and drink beer until it starts to get warm in the summer.

well i sit back and drink beer all year round (not much hockey though) does that count?

Education in the US is free until the end of high school. After that you have to pay for college, and the quality of education there depends entirely on where you go. Education in the lower schools (k-12) is very good where I am. (Connecticut.)
I know of the Netherlands as the scourge of my existence, in that they make bad software, sends it to my firm, who then make me use it. Bastards.
Racism around here in the northeast is minimal, and the vast majority of people are just ordinary folks.
