Tom Clancy's Airborne to be exact.

I recall reading that a year ago, but haven't heard a thing since.

Supposedly, it was to be on all platforms by mid-2008
Yet I haven't seen or heard a thing about it since.

Does anybody have any newer information on this?

Apparently it's been announced as HAWX.

April 2, 2008 - Ubisoft and Tom Clancy games are like the peanut butter and chocolate of the games industry; the two go together naturally. Gamers who are already familiar with the Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six series have a new Tom Clancy game to consider this fall. Tom Clancy's HAWX (that's short for High-Altitude Warfare...X?) is flying onto PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this fall.

Developed by Ubisoft's Bucharest Studio, HAWX lets you pilot more than 50 planes in dogfights across the sky. Set in 2012, HAWX imagines a world that has become increasingly dependant on private military companies (PMCs). With PMCs increasingly gaining power, we sit on the precipice of a global conflict. Sounds like a good enough reason to hop in your fighter jet and shoot down some bogies.

HAWX features an Enhanced Reality System (ERS), which is meant to make even the average pilot feel like Iceman. ERS includes radars, incoming missile detection, an anti-crash system, damage control system, tactical map, information relay, weapons trajectory control and allows players to give commands to their AI squadron. With the Assistance Mode flipped on, the ERS will put pilots into a maximum safety mode. Think of it like having all the assists turned on in a racing game. You get more freedom and control with Assistance Mode off, but you will also be at greater risk without the full protection of the ERS.

My other plane's a stealth bomber.

Fortunately, you won't have to fight alone. HAWX supports four-player jump in co-op throughout the campaign. There is also a Vs. mode where up to 16 players can battle online for experience points and in-game cash, which is used to unlock new weapons.

Wow, that sounds like it has f*ck-all to do with Tom Clancy.

Thanks Willie!

This sounds awesome, it would be even better if there were partner planes (AI) and the EndWar voice commands were implemented.

Still excited for this as I haven't played a good dogfight piloting game in some time.

Name is very silly. And yeah, it has **** all to do with Tom Clancy. We're on track for "Tom Clancy's It Came from Outer Space" sometime in the next few years.

But it could be decent, who knows. All we know is Ubisoft is releasing a dogfighting game sometime in the near future.
