Awesome! I really just wanted to know if 9600se or under could play the game and look good... im thinking it can cuz i can play doom on med-high

Most likely not, My current crap PC has a 9600se
a 9600se is actually not as good as a regular 9600

I know but HL2 is not as graphily dimanding as doom 3 and i can run it great...I think iw ill do just fine. People really thing you need an x800 1+ gigs of ram 3.2 GHZ processer to play this game and make it looknice... but really you really really dont.
