Are there any screenshots and whatnot available? Details at all?

I would also like to know.....can't seem to find any anywheres.....

Last time I checked their website, they hadn't mentioned the PC version yet. I'd feel better if they had some mention on their official website.

Hopefully it really will come out. I can't see how it won't sell well or be a great financial move. It will sell well don't you think? They don't even have to create anything - just port the game. It doesn't get any easier.

They should have released the Gamecube, PS2, and PC versions all at once, everyone who wants to play RE4 will probably already own it for the consoles, so only the hardcore fans will buy it, or people who don't have either a Gamecube or PS2, which is not very many people..

Well Capcom had a deal with Nintendo so that's why it came out on the Gamecube before anywhere else.

I can't remember any Capcom games for PC.. they seem to stick to consoles, we should be lucky that they are seeing the potential here. Capcom can let some developer port the game... they don't have to do anything but make money. I think it's a win win situation.

I expect the PC version to be the best, since it will at least have high resolution, anti-aliasing, and filtering, but the textures themselves will probably not be improved - just ported.

Really looking forward to playing this game.

Are you joking? It's very hard to port things over from a console to a PC.

First they need to redo the entire control scheme and find something that works... Then they need to redo a whole heck of a lot of the core systems so they don't use any GameCube API's but rather DirectX or OpenGL (whatever they choose to use), then they need to optimize not for one standard set of hardware in the GameCube, but MANY variations of hardware.

Easy? Bah :P

I hope they do add some extras though for the PC... I think I'll buy it too.

Errr...?
Capcom ported and released RE1, RE2 and RE3 for the PC way back when they came out.:p

On the topic itself, it's confirmed that RE4 is coming to the PC, Ubisoft has a deal with Capcom to distribute the PC versions of RE4, DMC3 and Onimusha3 in Europe and North America, but it has been delayed several times and is as someone stated now scheduled for September.:)

Meh, I can't see RE4 selling all that well for the PC. I mean there's a good chunk of people that have already played it on the consoles, so that reduces a good share of the market. I'd imagine it'd be very prone to piracy, seeing that there's no MP or anything else to encourage people buying the game. Also since they're not even marketing the port on their own website, I can't imagine any significant advertising is going to happen for the game once it's released.

But hey, who knows. I'm just guessing off the past trends of popular console games being ported to PC and I don't remember any doing particularly well. (ex. MGS series) If I hadn't already beaten this on the PS2 I'd be very interested, but updated graphics alone won't be enough to sway me into acquiring the game again.

They don't have to create an entire game from scratch. It's already created. They just have to copy it, and they are supplied all of the textures, all of the sounds, all of the models, all of everything. I didn't say it wasn't work, but they don't have to start from scratch here.

Easy as in - easy for a doctor to do a routine operation. Not easy as in - random guy can do this operation.

Really? Are the ports any good? I'll have to buy them all again if they are. Will be cool playing through them again in VGA.

I hear what you are saying, but there is more interest for this PC port than for most of the PC exclusive games out there, and like I said, they are taking one of their very successful products and repackaging it basically. They are paying UBI soft to take care of the port, and all Capcom has to do is supply the resources and then count the money. I mean we are talking one of the hottest developer/publishers of all time (Capcom), with one of the hottest franchises of all time (Resident Evil), with one of the hottest games in the series coming to the very popular PC platform - it's really like a no-brainer. No brainer - like a Zombie. =)

I already have RE4 for the Gamecube, but I'll be getting it for the PC, mainly to sample and experience whatever the modding community have in store for it. If anything at all.

Hopefully though, the PC version has the unlockables that the PS2 version had. (Leons gangster outfit and Ashlys suit of armour).

i saw dmc3: special edition for PC in a gamestore yesterday in town on my break, didnt know it was out yet :O

I can't imagine RE4 for the PC. Unless they improve the controls, the the game will be WAY too easy with keyboard/mouse. Guess they have to try to make a little more cash though, especially with such a fine game as this....

I think a PC version of RE4 is just gona mess up, I'd rather re-buy a Gamecube to play RE4 again than having it on PC, but then again I'd get it on PC if they've implented something new like improved graphics or something.

I don't think they will mess it up. Ubisoft has made a reputation for itself of being good at ports and high quality software. I would be willing to bet that the PC version will be the best version, since it is in analog High Def. (up to 4 times the pixel resolution)

Also, it might be a better idea to wait for the Wii instead of buying another Gamecube, since Gamecube games will play on the Wii.

Ubisoft aren't developing the port mate... They're only publishing it, Capcom's the one's developing it.. Which is why I recommend you not to have high hopes for it, Onimusha 3, one of the trio of these ports, sucked ass, one annoying thing was the entire game/'tutorials' etc was designed around an gamepad saying "To fire press BUTTON3" or such, heck, to even quit the game you had to press... Alt+F4 I think it was,

What do you mean buy it sucked ass? Because it wasn't improved any over the console version? I don't expect the port of RE4 to be much better than the console version, and really, the only improvement to be expected is the resolution.

So you say that Capcom ports are almost exact ports? That's not bad! You know, it's like a direct port of an arcade game, where it says "insert coin" on the console. Not an issue to me. You could change the resolution and stuff at least right? I just want to play the game. I've only got to play it for a few minutes and it was completely ****ing awesome. It seemed like it could be the best game ever made.

No, he means it was a shitty port. They didn't bother to change the text for the PC version, it probably isn't well optimized, and it's probably buggy. When Japanese developers port their console games to PC's, it always turns out badly. Especially when the game is as console centric as RE4 or Onimusha 3.

Just look at MGS2. One of my favorite games of all time on PS2, but the PC port was awful. The damn thing took like 9GB, it was full of bugs, and it ran very badly. It was an awful port.

For what it's worth though, Capcom might try a little harder with RE4 than with Onimusha 3 since it's a more high profile game.
