What happened to my FPS?!

Ok, sure, i was happy when the update came out, NOW MY FPS IS A CONSTANT 10. my fps_max is 99 and nothing changed in my settings. WHY THE **** AM I GETTING 10 FPS NOW. I got 20-30 before the update, now its a constant 10 and it dosent move

You mean your playing online with a fps of 20-30, normally, thats terrible. And now its 10fps.
Why don't you just drop your settings down, or if your using a Geforce card that does'nt fully support DX9.0 like the FX cards, type "mat_dxlevel 81" in the console, before you start a game, to make sure CS defaults too DX8.1, that'll increase your fps by a good 20 fps.
I've got an FX and play CS at low - med settings, since online fps is directly related to your internet connection, mines ISDN so I don't have the bandwidth to set my graphic settings higher, get about 60-80 fps all the time.

On my computer 30 fps is smooth. I didnt have 10fps before the update and im at 99% error.

Just because the human eye can't percieve the difference beyond 25fps, you think 30fps is smooth.
Well its not.
30fps in the middle of a mad firefight, with smoke nades and flash bangs going off, Is gonna chugg like a slide show, You'll drop to less than 10fps if your lucky.
like I said, I get between 60-80 and in firefights it drops to 40 fps or so, And thats when the actions mad on screen.

ive never had the pleasure of using a fast computer, not even a broadband connection (because its not available) so to me 30fps is very playable. What id like to know is why the hell it is Locked, i repeat Locked, no exageration... LOCKED ON 10. Dosent go to 9.... dosent go to 11..... SITS ON 10 regardless of what is going on.......

i tried that too.... It refuses to get off 10. Its like this in offline mode. I havent tried online mode yet. Is this a single player problem?

This guy wants to get his FPS up, not listen to you prattle on about how your computer runs the game.

Have you tried just deleting your CS:S Files and redownloading them?, usually worth a shot when this sort of thing happens

The human eye can tell the difference on computer games because they dont have motion blur, that only applies to tv and movies.

Well If Redneck bothered to post his PC specs, then I might have been more help.
But since he did'nt then how the hell am I supposed to post a constructive observation and answer, If he can't even be bothered to do that.
I did say to type into the console "mat_dxlevel 81" , that would help,
As for the human eye and framerate, I was only stating what I've read about what the eyes perceives.
I can tell the difference between 30-60 fps on my monitor, But I thought someone might try to be Facetious, So I explained it the best way I know how.

As for me "prattling on", I was trying to give a comparison to why I think 30fps is'nt smooth.
Try playing Farcry at max settings at 30fps, And tell me whether 30fps is good, then, It won't be.
