What have you done for HL2?

I was just wondering if people other than me are going out of their way for HL2. I spent about $600 on upgrades for my pc (6800GT, 1gb 3200 RAM, new PSU, new headphones,) and I have taken off of work on tuesday. Also I have bought silver on Steam. I plan to sleep from the time I get home Monday (about 6:30,) until 2:00 central time, that way I can play all day without any sense of tiardness. All this for HL2, but I have no regrets, I fell that it is much worth it. Does anyone else have any thing they went out of their way for to get the most out of HL2.

Well i upgraded my comp because it needed it, not just because HL2. New psu, mobo/cpu (64 3200), 9800xt.

I upgraded my ram and cpu to a 2500+ amd and 512 megs of pc-2700 ram. Not just for half-life 2, but for every future game. I am waiting for a 6800 oc to upgrade from a geforce 2. i'm not doing anything special for half-life, but I am playing half-life and the expansion packs over and over again

i got a new computer........then blew my gigabyte mainboard...then brought a IC7-G mainboard, then i blew that one up too...... now ive got a ASUS p4C800-E Deluxe.......
I brought a X800pro, and that blew up when i short circuted my IC7-G mainboard....now ive got a Albatron 6800GT, which performs alot better in source than the x800pro. I brought a samsung 172x monitor, LCD 12ms response time... beautiful.

So all in all ive got this for gaming not just HL2

Dished out 270 on a Radeon 9800 Pro 256 for both Doom 3 and HL2. Bought 512 of ram, new 120 GIG Seagate SATA Hardrive, rewired system, new case, new keyboard, 25 ' flat screen monitor, and a new set of underwear for the upcoming amounts of shit that will be in my pants in the next few days.

bought myself a 3.0ghz cpu, ATI9800pro video card. Giant thermaltake VGA cooler, 1Gighrtz ram SATA hard drives in RAID, Sound blaster audigy 2zs sound card and THX speakers and 1500k connection for HL2 mods. I think i overprepared, but ill enjoy it

Hrm... Poured all my savings into it, lol. New computer a year and a half ago (also for college, but mainly for HL2) w/ Barton 2500+ o/c to 3000, 512 Corsair ram, decent speaker system, new vid card (9800 Pro) a lil while ago...... But yeah, most of that stuff is somewhat dated compared to the current stuff (now that's a bad delay.....), but It's finally here, so w00t!!

When I first saw the 2003 E3 video, I started researching stuff then and there. I knew I wasn't gonna have it buy sept. 30... thank god for the delay... then saved up and bought a 3.4ghz EE, 9800 pro, 512mb ddr400 ram, and a kickass mobo (dont know the name off hand).

The reason I only got 512mb, it was a weeks worth of groceries or the ram... and the fridge was EMPTY. So i'm savin up for more. :afro:
