What I would like to see in upcoming computer games. Complaining about Valve and HL2 can't be healthy, so why don't we create a list of things we want to see in games within the next five years or so.

For example, I would like to see

1) Games to integrate AA better. I hate how some games don't support it, and how you can't change it in game.
2) Character Developement. Wouldn't it be cool to implement some sort of stream-of-onsciousness (character developement as the character grows and interacts with the enviornment) technique?
3) Nailgun. Nuff said.

So...add to my list.

I hate nailguns. I'd rather have a penguin any day.
Co-op!
Coolness.
Bots in mulitplayer so I can actually play mp (well, to some extent anyway :E).
Jungle.
And a cool menu screen.
Of course, this isn't all I want in a game...but the rest (ie actually being a good game) is rather obvious/

I want a sophisticated AI that leads combat with you and modifies itself to your own tactics so that you cant use same move 5000 times.
Hmmm.......Realistic water thatd be nice.
Real 3d like ya know what i mean the things there putting on SU-35s only used for games.Like 3d simulation.Remember when they tried to make the 3d glasses? Well something sorta like that but maybe more easy to use and not so bad on they eys.
More useless and mysterious charecters ya know sorta you wander about them and forget about em and then meet em at middle of game.
Evolving charecters basicly charecters grow in age change there perspective start liking other things It exists right now but its pretty weak and loose, not enough in my opinion.
AI combat ,ya know NPCs fighting each other id like some more of that so i dont feel like everyones against me i dont like when games make illusion that world rotates around you.
A living world, creatures wander around and use there AI instead of being scripted to attack at a certain time, as before its a problem since you feel world is rotating around you.
More weird weapons that become famous you know i wouldnt ever expect a crowbar to be a really useful weapon in a game but it adds to realism while still being cool.
More objects to screw around with you know why its just more fun with more stuff using old rule quanitity=quality not true always but still you get my point.
Realistic trees and such , i dont like it when there so crappy that its just obvios bf1942 simulated them well but i think trees shoulda been more lush.
Sharper texture i want stuff to look good and believable cuse when you see a crapy texture for a wall its really disapointing.
Clipping! So damn annoying , you know why this is self explainable.
More creative guns ya know manipulator is fantastic why cant all developers be this creative.
A few hot chicks well ya know this appeals to all guys and guys are the majority in gaming so this is self explanatory also.
Really dumb monsters and really smart monsters this is sorta thing for realism cuse think about it , its like your life you meet dumb people and smart people constantly and it also kind of challenges you to be more flexible tactic wise.
Multiplayer more players more vehicles and more balance something most games almost get but never get to it just quite.
Helicopters....Cruising the city one time should be fun right?
More flashy effects yeah i know games arent all about this but you gotta admit when you see a nice explosion theres always a warm feeling in your heart.
Shooting through stuff ya know through wooden walls and such its just one thing that will appeal even more to CS2 if it has it.
Simulated bullets , well yeah takes some proccesor but the game just branches out with possibilities.

Okay im done.

well the number one thing on my list would be Co-op mode.. seriously.. i remeber the days of Quake2 and playing Co-op with friends and completing the single player missions.. that was tons of fun.

imagine playing HL with friends Co-op style? yah it would rawk :afro:

i seriously hope Valve incorporates a Co-op mode.. seeing as the delay is taking long enough, might as well take a bit longer and add this mode... game will definitely last longer although im sure mods would make that happen anyway :)

I want a co-op mode too.. I was so bummed when i heard that halo for the pc wouldn't have it :(

Source is capable of supporting Co-op, however there is no Co-op in HL² because of the nature of the story (there can only be one Gordon Freeman!!) ;(

I think story based Co-op is a good thing and I certainly want to see more of it (I was totally bummed out when I found out that the excellent H&D2 didn't have Co-op, unlike the original). The next generation of games are heading into the realms of the cinematic in look and feel, and I think the future lies in making the experiences and environments those games deliver Co-op.

There is a bunch of other stuff I'd like to see also, but I'd take Co-op for now.
