what in god's name is wrong with the steam friends network?

seriously. it's been unreliable since steam's launch. i can't *believe* that the glitches haven't been fixed by now.

or am i the only one that can't connect 80 percent of the time?

I can connect, but then Friends occassionally randomly forgets all my friends. Whoops.

I agree, they seriously need to overhaul it.

i have always had tons of problems with the friends network, either i can't log in or it won't stay on or whatever....... I use xfire instead

Use something else, like xfire,msn, or aim....Its not a big problem.

it's been in existance since like 2001 or something.. Can't really remember when I was in the beta.

i am on xfire. one of the problems with this setup is how my screen has a 25% chance of getting corrupted after alt-tabbing to an xfire window. the steam network is nice because it's perfectly integrated into the interface. i'm just stunned that they still don't have it working properly.

Xfire supports in game message now too so you can avoid the whole ALT-Tabbing thing. It doesn't support all games but does support CS:S (Unofficially)

They have better things to do then worry about friends, like fixing their games, and finishing them. They will fix it soon probably.
