Smoker and Tank seem like they would be absolutely badass.

I'd go with either the Smoker or Hunter. The Tank seems too generic, sort of like the Jaws mode in Goldeneye, if you will. The Boomer seems like it'll be fun to play as, but it doesn't appeal to me all that much.
I'd like to get really good at choking/tripping people as the Smoker. I think if a really skilled player is playing as one, they will cause a constant amount of trouble for the Survivors. The Hunter is also a class I could see as being one used with great skill. The agility and wall hopping seems like it would be a nuisance. I'd like to attempt some guerilla, hit-and-run tactics with it, mostly just harassing the Survivors, until enough chaos is happening around them during which I could pounce and finish one of them.
I want this game is basically what I'm saying.

Smoker. Pulling people around and choking them with a 50ft. tongue is just too cool.
The Boomer is an extremely fat(or morbidly obese) infected, who is filled with methane gas and explodes, when killed, causing damage to anything nearby. It can vomit some liquid at the rebels, that attracts the normal infected to the player, and distorting his/her view.
The Smoker is the one with the 50ft neck and likes to just hang from buildings, and catch any survivor, that runs into it's neck, hanging them.
Unless any other survivor deosn't happen to be nearby and drive the smoker away. If in trouble, he "smokes" the area, so he can escape.
The smoke is not poisonous in nature or anything, it just annoys the players. You also can't shoot when running through the smoke(or was it something else, that you can't do?).
The Tank is a huge muscular zombie, that can throw cars and anything heavy at you. Since it's so strong it will appear only once every few rounds, and one of the player is randomly given a chance to control the Tank, if he SHOULD spawn. He is slow, but more than makes up for it with his strength and toughness.
And the Hunter is a shady thing. He is more of a guerilla type, that kills lone survivors, because it IS weak and can be killed easily, if there is someone to kick off the Hunter or shoot him. It's very agile.
What makes it dangerous for lone survivors, is the fact that he's very dark in color, and can sit in corners, waiting for prey.
When someone comes by(survivor) he can pounce out and claw the victim.
Correct me or add something if you feel like it.

I haven't laughed like that in a long time. The mental image was too brilliant.
The corrected answer is tongue, just for those who didn't know. And in addition to hanging people off buildings it can also be used to pull in people horizontally at ground level, as seen in the new video from QuakeCon.
