works fine for steam HL, just install it to the "Half life" directory in steamapps just as you would have before team, in the "Half life" directory in Sierra...

then simply restart steam and it will be in the "third party games" section... most mods work fine with steam, some dont, below are a list of ones i know do work for sure (that i have tried myself):

Azure Sheep (SP)
Point of View (SP)
Natural Selection

if you want to know if it works or not, go into the forums and look for people bitching about "omg y dossnnt it wurk with steem?", if this happens more then once or twice (some people dont know how to install correctly), then dont bother downloading

It's a multiplayer mod where the players play through sceenarios working as a team.

e.g. hopping on a friends head to get over a wall/box happens frequently.
Most the weapons are standard hl with the exception of the medkit, barnacle gun (from op4) and uzis.
All the maps are custom, on their website they have links to dl mirrors for all the map packs. There are fun plugins on some servers like grappling hooks, jetpacks, a dice module (type aloud 'roll the dice' and you could get godmode, stuck, killed, etc.)

It's lots of fun, I highly recommend it. Installation has a few problems if you use steam. Might take 2 tries to get it working.

SC is mostly dependant on custom maps, many of which are tongue-in-cheek and full of edited content. Enjoyment of the game depends heavily upon the team you end up with and the map you're playing on. There're so many maps available that it puts many new players off (not just in scale, but simply because a lot of the "non-official" maps are very lacklustre), but some are classics.
