For me, it's the Banff Springs Hotel. Here a small pic:

Like the name says, it's in Banff Alberta. You walk in, and it feels like you've stepped one hundread years in the past. It's amazing. The hotel has 771 rooms 34 elevators 39 stairwells. There has even been ghost sightings in the hotel. That place is awesome. Here's a couple pics of the inside:

(The above picture is the hallway that's described in the following paragraph)

The hallway is my favorite part of the hotel..it overlooks sort of a dance hall or I guess you could say a multi-use hall where you can dance or have dinner. At night, the whole hallway is glowing red with the lights across the wall...awesome. One of the most weird feelings I've ever experienced. People say that sometimes, a spirit ot ghost or whatever you wanna call it is looking over the ledge down into the dance hall. In the hallway there is a picture of the ghost (which is female..don't know her name though) on the wall beside the ledge.

If you live near that place you must go see it. A very neat experience.

EDIT: Sorry, the pictures are not working, I have to find others.

EDIT 2: Found a neat story about that female ghost: (And the Pics are fixed)

In the 1920s, a young bride was descending the spiral staircase from the bridal suite, en route to her wedding. On the way, her long, flowing dress was set ablaze by the candles lining the staircase. While attempting to extinguish the flames, she slipped, falling down the staircase and resultantly breaking her neck. Employees of the hotel have reportedly heard strange noises emanate from the bridal suite when it is not being occupied. They have also seen a figure in a long, flowing dress descending the stairs. The dress of the apparition will then catch on fire, and the figure will vanish.

One of the most interesting was Dominica. We hiked 6 miles through jungle to this boiling lake.

(not my picture, but I was there)

I don't really know, but I'll talk about another Hotel.

The best one I've ever been to is Embassy Suites. God, that hotel was awesome. After you exit the lobby on the first floor, there's a bunch of palm trees and a river running through, with a dining area in the center. At night, they light the area up with candles, cook, and occasionally do little skits.

Great rooms too, with fantastic movie and game selection.

Try Vegas for huge, nutty hotels. I think the most interesting place for me was the Sea of Cortez - we swam in the bioluminescent ocean at night, ran across a 300+ school of dolphins in a boat in the day (in fact, jumped right off the boat into the middle) - easily the best freediving I've ever done.

Either the RMC nuclear reactor or the national rowing and kayaking training centre in Cuba.

Place i've been 'in'? or at?

I once climbed up a glacier in alaska. We got near the rock face, and the glacier was melting slowly. The water was flowing down the side of the rockface from a river, into a huge, deep cravasse(sp). If you fell down into it you'd surely die, and it was freaky as hell. But fun to climb it!

Yay I live two hours away, sounds cool.

Cambodia. Interestingly horrific, fun, interesting, hot, boring, exciting place I have been in my entire current life.

Las Vegas...

so many different personalities... but they are all tacky.

Birmingham. Don't go there.

Haha.
Seconded.

I can't really think of the most interesting place i've been to. Warwick Castle is interesting though :)

I haven't been to a lot of interesting places (though I'm visiting Europe during winter so I hope that will change :)), but I think I would vote NYC. It's pretty much the only place I've ever been where I didn't stay in a hotel and spend the entire trip visiting theme parks and attractions, my uncle used to live there so I stayed at his house, it was fun.

I don't travel :(

So the most interesting place was the garage of the man who hung himself..in teh garage. Too bad he wasn't in there at the time. Me and a friend just used the garage to cook snakes and use seringes *sp?* to inject paint into the living snakes....

Morbid ****s we were.

WTF? People should inject paint into you!

Berlin was pretty interesting. Especially the Jewish Museum or whatever.

"WALK ON THE FACES OF THE DEAD, YOU ****S!"

"Errr...I'd rather not?"

Horse racing - Dubai World Cup at Nad Al Sheba race track: most anticipated racing event.

and so much more...

I'm totally going to Dubai when i'm rich and famous

Bolivia, Salar de Uyuni (salt flats)

beautiful desolated place with incredible bright blue sky and eye-hurting white salt flats. Plus really weird rock formations. Plus a red and a green lagune.

I remember that it was about -10 degrees centigrade and we were sitting in a hot water spring with ice on the edges and the flamingos a few feet away. Abso****ing-lutely worth visiting.

Chichén Itzá, Mexico: Mayan ruins

it's over 4000 years old and is absolutely breath taking

there's a giant ballcourt where the mayans played a form of basketball with a hard rubber ball ...the losing team would be decapitated inhonour of the winners.

There's also a pyramid where you can see blood canals carved into the rock for when they performed human sacrifices

the buildings are extremely impressive considering each stone must weigh thousands of pounds each

I've also visited a roman fort circa 300 ad in northern spain ...you can still make out the road: the road to rome

also been to hundreds of historical sites throughout spain/north america

The German Reichstag was interesting, to know that 60 years ago the Russians had beena advancing up to the very spot i was standing on.

Poland in general was interesting, absoultely awful roads just after the German border, seeing a giant Tesco too :O Then Krakov was a cool place, had a meal at a pretty swanky restuarant and had some Pole's perform some interesting traditional dancing, (i did some too :bounce: )

Then there was Auschwitz, doubt i have to elaborate on that, but yeah...

One of the most interesting places?

That would have to be Jotunheimen in Norway.
http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload5/P8250118.jpg

I actually took that picture, so I was standing right there looking out at that spectacular view. That place was breathtaking. What you don't see is the huge glacier continuing behind us. We climbed across it with ice axes, ropes and spike shoes.. it was a real adventure.

Another place that kicked ass, although on another level, would be Prague in the Czech republic. Prices are incredibly low, beer tastes incredibly good and the city itself is very fascinating.

City of the Dead, Cairo, Egypt.

city2.jpg

To your left are houses, to your right are tombs, in front of you are people living in tombs. It is actually incredibly creepy, knowing that there are dead bodies less than a metre away from you as you walk down thin streets.

Pretty much anywhere in Egypt's good though.

Small Town Idaho. Around 300 people. I've never been in a place where such a high percentage of the population hate me.

Epheus. Old ruins out in the middle of nowhere in turkey. Was a fascinating place .

on top of some mountain here in alberta probably. i've driven from PEI to alberta so I've been through quite a few places. other than that....florida...i havent really left canada, i shall tho, i shall.
