What is wrong with people?

My dad gave me a some sweets in my lunch as a treat a week ago, I decided to offer most of them to my classmates. Most of the responces I got were "What's wrong with it?" "It was on the floor wasn't it?" or "It was in your mouth wasn't it?"
Why are people so negative, I was trying to nice and they were just assuming the worst of me.

i guess you could blame it on the fact that with so many rapists, murderers, and just overall bad people in the world these days that its justified. Or maybe everyone is just paranoid

It's what soceity is turning into, if you don't see it you are blind like most.
Think, do you know everyone even in your close/street?
Back in the 40's everyone communed, i don't even know the names of my neighbours.
Gradually the social aspect of soceity is dying, food will be delivered via tesco, you will go to work away from people behind a screen.....nothing like how it was in the 40's
In my opinion it has changed for the much worse.

60 years ago, people would have unquestionably taken the sweets with trust.
There is more and more distrust every day.

meh I wouldn't care, in a lot of cases even myself I'd ask what they did lol not that I think low of the person or anything but just because my friends and other people always play pranks on each other.
Teach them a lesson and lace some other candy with cyanide and give it to them then, sure you might go to jail for an incredibly long time but hey you'd be able to say "THAT'S WHAT I DID WITH THEM BIOTCH MUAHAHAHA"

I don't know. I don't think people are really all that different now. It's just everyone's perception of society and other people that have changed. You can thank modern media for that.
