dfc05 said:Hey, cool. I kinda want to get into environmental science or environmental engineering or something like that too; the only problem is I don't know what kind of jobs there are for that field. I think I probably started getting interested in that stuff when I realized that 3 articles on environmental stuff from 6th grade science class were the only bits of information that I actually remembered/cared about from that class. The ecology stuff is probably the most interesting stuff I got out of school and probably the only reason I really liked biology class.
Dedalus said:your most likely job would be as a researcher, or a lecturer at a university in your chosen environmental field. i know someone who studied Biology and The Environment and is now working in Parliament as an advisor. nifty eh? there's loads of jobs around for doing environment stuff, they're just not the obvious ones.

1. Enough $ so I could buy anything (reasonable) without thinking about money.
2. Respect
As long as I have those two things I'll be happy

pHATE1982 said:Civil and environmental engineering: Study alot of maths a physics for the first couple of years and learn how big ass buildings stand up, then move more into the enviornmental modules, learning about contamination etc. You can become a civil engineer on a very reasonable wage, who works in the environmental sector advising building companies what to do, why they should do it and what they should avoid. If you've got the ambition you could also be working in far off lands looking at the environmental aspects of building a dam in some nice hot country. Shit loads of these jobs available, and pretty interesting if u don't mind maths.

Ecology: Proffesional tree hugger. Beard, saddles, and wooly jumpers are a must.
dfc05 said:Cool, that sounds like fun. I read an article about people designing more environmentally-friendly buildings; sounded pretty interesting. Oh well, I guess in about a year I'll see what I pick to study. Maybe if I get into engineering, then if I don't feel like doing environmental anymore I can switch to something else in engineering.
And I've met people who are friends with tree huggers. Sometimes they build platforms in the trees and have people bring them food and stuff so they never have to come down..... Like the kid in that book Baron in the Trees, hmm....

We've been in buisness for about 8 years, and have grown to become one of the largest broker houses in Houston. Although I wanted a job in the game industry, that's not where I ended up. I wouldn't give this up for anything though, I do enjoy my job.
