I was visiting hl2.net a long time and then i discovered that they had forums so i joined

To point out to people that HL2 was over six months late.

I joined because I really enjoyed playing HL2 so I typed Half Life 2 in google and first was 'halflife2.net' so I clicked it and joined :D. Then forgot about it for about a month, then came back and stayed :).

I read an article about the source code theft that was also a preview of HL2, got mad hyped, typed halflife2.net in the browser on a whim... at that time the front page was down and it just redirected you to the forums, so i registered and about 4.5 years later here we are.

Fragmaster spoke ill of HL2.net when he quit PHL and I figured I'd have a look myself.

I eventually thought the arguments around here surrounding the leak/delay were more plentiful and absorbing. Discussion on PHL was a pretty lukewarm affair.

I lurked for information about if Alyx whould survive and information about gman and combine etc.
Then after newyear i thought i had some theoris about the game and decided to share. BIG mistake.

I'm pretty sure I just Googled Half Life 2 and this forum popped up.

Downloading the original bink videos when they were being released, saw the forum discussion while waiting for them to finish and got hooked. That feels like a long time ago now!

Same as Shippi, only moments later obviously. :p

I lurked for a few months, but I think it was how awesome the people here were that made me actually join.

Moved away from the BF1942 fansite I was a member of(BFnation.net as Phrenzy), and I was interested in HL2 coming out, so I lurked for a while before finally joining a month later.

Wanted to show off my headcrab prop/zombie suit shite.

I needed help and this looked like the best place I'd be able to find it. Good job I didn't introduce myself on the in the newbie forum, otherwise I'd've never returned!!! :p Funny how most of the people who posted in there stopped visiting the forum, isn't it??!!!

Edit: I've actually still got the pictures of your zombie costume saved in my pictures folder, ZT!!!

Halflife2.net kidnapped my child and told me that if I didn't join they would kill her.

I don't remember, I think it was basically the same as everyone else.

Googled HL2, this came up... and I was here basically waiting for new info of HL2 to be released all the time.

bryanf445 and the fact that my computer wasn't able to handle my 9800 PRO I installed in it.

I'm pretty sure I posted a thread about it, but I can't recall.

I have actually been following you guys for ages but after i got a virus on my comp and had to wipe it i lost your site name and forgot about it for a year or so , then i rediscovered it last month. I was so happy that i nearly wet myself. But i didnt and registered instead...

Edit : Half-life 2 had a manual?!

It's embarrassing.
I would rather not share.

U forgot halflife2.net? omg...

I think I just googled Half Life 2.

Lurked for a long time.

I signed up to help Angry Lawyer and Pai Mei preach the truth about Combine-on-Xen.

Wanted to know of Hl2 would use starforce because I pirate all valve games, and worried I wouldn't be able to play because SF was almost impossible to crack.

edit: I stole a man's steam account in Reno just to watch him cry.

Found this forum after I was banned from another hl2 forum.

I came looking for the original HL2 E3 movies. I stayed for...

wait, why the hell am I still here?

Played the game, fell in love with it, wanted more after the end, typed in Half-Life 3 and this came up, joined up and there was interesting speculation. Here I am now.

I think it was a google search that brought me here, and I can't find the exit.

help me

I watched all those pre-release videos when deciding whether to get HL2 and it showed the Hydra. Naturally, like most everyone at the time, I was curious as to why I didn't see it when playing through the game. For whatever reason, this place seemed nicer than steampowered so I joined after I completed it in December and asked all you guyz. You were surprisingly nice compared to some of the responses I have seen others get.

Now I love you all. Apart from some of you.

I actually did it to overthrow the mod power. See, I am actually the one who runs everything here, the mods like to deny it, but they report to me.

See, occasionally I start up something here so the chaos helps regain my control. Stern Ascension, Poll Incident, everything in HL2.net history, me..

Keeps the mods busy see. Yes, yessss, gooooodddd.
