I want a high end mousepad with which I can play Half-Life 2 with my notebook. I use Logitech MX518 mouse. What mousepad do you use or what mousepad would you recommend to me?

Right now my top two mousepads would be the new fUnc sUrface 1030 MBA Limited Edition (costs almost 50 bucks) and Steelpad 4D. I have chosen these models just because they also offer a clip to use to hold the mouse cord (you can buy one separately from Steelpad). If I'm truly honest with you, fUnc's new mousepad really excites me though the size could be a bit larger.

Price is not an issue here, but unfortunately size is. For example while Steelpad S&S has got some great reviews it's just too big for my desk: 12,6" (32cm) x 10,65" (27cm). So Steelpad S&S would definately be too large for me.

Some of my friends recommend me these swedish-made Qpads, but I'm not familiar with those. I've also considered mousepads like Icemat, Ulti-mat, X Ray pads, Radpatz and Razer eXactmat, but I guess they are not for me due to too large a size, poor combatibility with optical mice or poor appearance.

Please help me!

I use a $10 mouse pad I got at some computer store, it has a wrist guard...I don't see any need to buy an expensive mouse pad if you are using an optical/laser mouse. Before this I used my desk but the finish on it started to wear away.

I know I know. I guess I'm just a bit of a yuppie but then again, a lot of people do buy high end mousepads and most even say that the performance difference is noticeable.

So if someone would please just give me your opion on which mousepad to buy, other than cheap pads, which can be and probably are fine.

MX1000 - trcks as good on a wooden desk as anymouse on any mousemat i've ever used:cool:

Again, I ask you to recommend me a high end mouse pad. Not a mouse or a cheap mousepad or my desk as a surface. Yes, cheap mousepads work. Yes, MX1000 is a good mouse. Yes, with the new mousing technology the surface of my desk would suffice.

But come on, this is something I want to buy, so could I please get some recommendations here. Or do you expect me to believe that there isn't a single FPS gamer here who has used more than 10 dollars for a mousepad.

I got an Everglide Destrukt Gaming Mat, and it works a treat. Feels real nice, good control, fast, and its HUGE! No worries about going off the surface, thats for sure. I highly recommend.

I've got one similar to this, its good stuff. my friend ahs the smaller one whch is good if you cant spare the desk space. It's a nice platform for the mouse and feels pretty good.

Just steal one from comp usa, those bastards. I use some old one I got from a Fry's promo.

Yeah I am with that other guy, I nicked my mouse pad from one of my science teachers - (he was incompetent and did deserve it) :D
