So since PC gamer decided to hype the shit out of the new bullshit guild wars addon, i'm stuck looking at that while i'm on the pooper, so I was just wondering what exactly I should be looking forward to PC game wise, so far my list consists of. (and a few 360 titles to boot)

Burning Crusade (obviously) but I need more..

Gothic 3
Bioshock
Unreal Tournament 2007 <--- most anticipated by far, loved being involved in the UT commmunity.
Gears of War
Spore

I'm getting a little sick of World of Warcraft and rarely play except at my guild's scheduled raid times, so I just need to pick up at least one of these titles. If you have any new suggestions please provide a brief explination of the title and why you think it would be a game that would be worth my time. (I prefer depth and narrative, or social [online] interaction) and am not much of a strategy/rts person. Thanks guys :).

Just tell me what games are hypeing you guys these days and why, keep in mind I have very little intrerest in straight up strategy games (C&C and Blizzard RTS games are the only ones i've ever enjoyed), but I am always open to hybrid genres like Natural-Selection or Savage proposed.

ed. ps3 discussion aside as i'm living on a college budget :p.

my rig is:
Athalon 64 X2 3800+ (2.01 Ghz)
2 Gigs o' Ram
Radeon X1800XL
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
17 inch LCD
5.1 surround sound
Broadband Internet (duh :p)
Also got the Xbox 360 + HD

Looking for one game with hours of play time here, an investment that has been as good as WoW possibly. Single player games RARELY if EVER provide me with this.

All the love,
BHC

Spore, but it would be a bit repetative. But lotsa experimenting to do.

If STALKER has a free open world like they promised, it would guarantee you a few totally different re-plays of the game.

Command and Conquer 3
Supreme Commander
The Witcher

Well, quite a few things about the gameplay of STALKER has sent since THQ sent in Dean Sharpe to 'fix' the project, amongst them it seems they've simplified quite a few game aspects.. But we can't really do anythig but wait and see.. But even I, whom many here know was a huge STALKER fanboy, has totally lost interest in the game.

Hey, if you have 2 GHz RAM, you could sell that technology to Kingston and become a millionaire ;).

If you have a 360 you could get Alan Wake on that instead though, even though I'm buying a high-end comp, I'll probably end up getting Alan Wake on the 360, if it's true what the devs said, that it'll run just as good as the latest showcased vers on the 360.:)

*Ahem*
Half Life 2: Episode 2
Team Fortress 2
Portal

D'oh, Samon beat me to it!

Half-life 2: Episode 2
Bioshock
Portal

PORTAL! Actually I had forgotten all about this, will this game include any kind of narrative or story? Or will it just be straight up puzzle solving (either way I plan on picking this one up just for physics madness).

crysis,
UT07,
bS,
gEARS Of WAr,
Alan wAKE,
GTA4,
MAX PAYNE3,

:)

Gorgon, considering the fact that he has a 360 you could well eliminate GTA4 and GoW from the list.. Btw, GTA4 hasn't even been confirmed for the PC yet, it'll probably be another GTA that's released quite a while after the console releases. He might as well get Alan Wake as the devs have been hinting that on the 360 it'll run as well as the Quad-Core vers due to how heavily they've optimized the game for the 360.:p And on the topic of Alan Wake, Max Payne 3 is hardly a game to look out for, considering nothing has been shown, and Remedy has said they're not part of the Max Payne 3 project.. Usually when a great game switches dev teams, it's not for the better imo.:) But then again, we all know you're a PC fanboy..:p
But the others were deff. good, Crysis, UT2k7(And BS though that's also a 360 game) are deff. good recommendations.:)

Hasn't been officially set in stone yet, but it has been hinted at by Epic.. It has also been stated that the PC port won't go into development until after GoW has been RELEASED on the 360 iirc.:)

all I need is Mass Effect to be announced for pc and I'll have zero reason to get an xbox ..till the next must have game is announced as an exclusive

Well, considering Mass Effect is being published by MSG, I'd assume they want to keep it a 100% 360 exclusive for as long as they can..

please explain why you feel the need to turn HL2.net into a house of LIES????

Mass Effect IS coming to pc ..or I'm visiting a HL2.net member with a 360 and taking it from them ..(also giving them a purple nurple for good measure)

:O /me passes note to Numbers

"psst, Gargantou is a commie, pass it along"

Oooooh /me wants NWN 2 and AoC now, haha too many decisions to make. Alan Wake looks better every sceenshot I see as well. Crysis seems technologically sound but otherwise if they shit all over their community like they did with cryengine and farcry I could care less. (poor documentation, lack of sandbox/sdk updates). Thanks for all the recommendations guys keep them coming, likeing this thread.

And of course, Far Cry sucked.

Just technologically impressive interms of draw distance, map size, water rendering etc. for it's time. But I could care less without a proper set of a tools for the community to dig into. As for the single-player it was an EXTREMELY drab affair with the exception of a few infiltration style missions.

Yes, I remember one patch taking up to 6 months or more to be released. The community support was pathetic.

An english release of Brigade E5: New Jagged Union.

Damn you Russians and Germans for getting it ages ago!

I'll say apart from those already mentioned C&C3 for the sheer fact of a great single-player AND multi-player experiance due for us :D

And of course, another outing for Kane, which is worth the price of the game in its self!
