Well, I would get it for the PC because of mods and shit but my computer isn't that great. I've also heard the fallout 3 looks the worst on the PS3. My specs for my laptop are: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.00 GHz, ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 HD (256mb) and 3 gigs of ram. Judge for yourself if it'll run ok. I'm guessing not or maybe not at all (I'm quite pessimistic :p).

Your specs are good enough to run Fallout 3.

Neither, you should save your money and buy new shoes.

PC, from what I've seen it's not as fun on console IMO.

Edit: But, a lot of people including myself had many crashes on fully capable computers.

Based on what you've got the PS3 option will be better for you. While the PC version is better (due to mods, console commands etc), based on you're laptop specs it won't it run as good as the PS3 nor look as good graphically. It will run on it but you'll get a better experience on the PS3.

Defiantly the PC. There are plenty of mods that adds alot into the game. And having access to the command console is always handy.

The engine is the same as Oblivions pretty much, so if you can run that fine you'll run Fallout.

I would warez it to make sure it runs smooth on your pc, and then I would buy it if I really wanted to

PC - you can mod the game, and the GECK will produce some very good mods in the coming months / years.

Ps3 version is a total joke.

Glitch as hell and Bethesda said they wouldn't even bother release a patch for it.

Not to mention, there is no DLC for ps3 version.

You should buy a good game.

Anywhoo, if you even consider buying it for the PS3, you should seek help. PC is vastly superior.

OH MY GOD LOOK IT IS MIKAEL IN A FALLOUT THREAD! AND LOOK HES MAKING FUN OF IT AGAIN! WOWWEE WOW WOW WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Its like a ****ing bat signal for you.

"Hey guys I was playing fallout the other day and I jus-

*Mikael crashes through window*

"SHUT UP FALLOUT 3 IS SHIT!"

PC for sure, game like this is meant for a mouse and keyboard.

PC!!!!! I dont even think you should have to think about that one!

Considering you can run it and also there is dlc on the pc version then pc it is.

PC or 360.

But you don't own a 360 so go with the PC. Honestly, my friend bought it for the PS3, hated it and took it back. I then convinced him to buy it for the 360 after Christmas when he got rid of his PS3 and got a 360. It's now his favourite game o_O

Even with such bad specs? Are you guys just going ahead and voting and not even looking at my post. Just wondering.

But also this.

If you're interested because of the hype, bear in mind that a few 'journalists' have admitted that they felt obliged to vote for the game in end of year awards, even though they don't particularly like the game. I found the game tedious to sit through, and the voice acting / dialogue is as diabolical as 'passable' can get.

Well, I loved oblivion and my friend keeps on saying good things about it (he loved oblivion as well).

Several people have stated that your pc is perfectly capable of running the game already, and its is frankly quite obvious to anyone with an inkling of computer knowledge that your PC is more than adequate with those specs. That is why, after the first few people, nobody else mentioned your specs. Because they're a non-issue.

Well you don't exactly think it's bad and you clocked 30+ hours and think it's good if you can ignore the fact that it has the name Fallout in it's title.

Come off it, broseph. Surely a game that you were able to play for 30+ hours qualifies as a worthwhile purchase.

If I can ignore the glaring plotholes, setting holes, poor combat, crappy voice acting and animations and focus on the art direction and nothing more, yeah, it's a good game.

The more I played it, the more painfully obvious became the fact that it's the very definition of mediocrity. Yes, it's been 30 hours. That's very little. Compared to Morrowind, Fallout, Max Payne 2, Mass Effect, Sim City 3000, any other good game, it's barely a moment.

A good indication is my desire to replay it. Fo3 sits on my hard drive and gathers dust, while Fo1, Fo2, Max Paynes, STALKER, Sim City all get a replay from me regularly.

PS: Thanks for the new av, Barnz.

Are there not enough in-game animals for your tastes?

Back on topic, I'd say PC. Superior controls/capacity for modification is a fair trade off for slightly less smooth/shiny graphics.

Funny, none of those, sans possibly Fallout, are exceptional in the ways you criticize Fallout 3. Max Payne 2, Sim City and Marrowind may be worthwhile experiences, but if you viewed them through the same painfully high standards you hold to the Fallout franchise you'd probably let them rot out of principle, too (in addition to having probably triple, or quadruple, your post count). None of them have exceptional, enlightening or breathtaking plot lines and most of them are laughably archetypal and copyist, lacking any sort of genre moving or innovative narrative and/or gameplay.

If you held those standards universally you would be left with maybe a small handful of games with reasonable dialog and plot, excluding everything released in the last decade. As a result you might also occasionally come off as reasonable in your constant diatribe and vehement, personal sounding distaste for anything Fallout related since those last few enticing Van Buren screencaps.

Let me also echo that I like your high standards, I just wish you could articulate them in threads that pertained to things other than Fallout 3, in a way that didn't seem like a droning whine. You have a lot of good things to say about video games and generally enjoy your posts when they're not Fallout related. Stop being butthurt so I can enjoy reading what you have to say again, k thx.

I actually almost entirely agree with you about Fallout 3, although I do believe it has redeeming qualities that will make it worth the purchase when it goes down in price.

Fallout 3 receives the bulk of my complaints for two reasons. First, it epitomizes everything I consider wrong with the industry nowadays - focus on graphics and "cool" at the expense of coherent, consistent gameworlds and storylines and even gameplay. Second, it hurts twice as much because it's a series I love, grew up with and watched die at the hands of an incompetent Frenchman who couldn't run a company, if his life depended on it.

The latter is actually the biggest amplifier of my industry-related gripes. It's one thing seeing dumbing down in series you don't really play, but it's a completely different pair of brahmin, if it's something you loved for the past 12 years and seen it die.

I agree with you, though, I should distribute my RAEG and HAET evenly, not focus on one game.

About the rest of the titles. Let me be clear - I don't look for revolution in every single game I play. I look for craftsmanship, attention to detail, love even. And the games I mentioned are examples of what can be achieved if the developer cares.

For example, Max Payne and Max Payne 2 aren't some groundbreaking revolutions in gaming, no. They are simply great games, with some good gameplay, a film noir aesthetic, story and some excellent writing (unformly above average). And, what truly brings it above, is that it doesn't try to be uber-serious, to only end up uber-hilarious. It treats itself as a class B noir movie, with an incredibly self conscious approach.

On a sidenote, Bethesda is completely devoid of creativity. Think Fat Man or Chinese Swords were original creations? Think again.
