What programms do you use?

Hello, this is my first post. I have some questions

What programms do you use to make such a nice weapon models? I use 3dsmax but i can't make them look good.

I think i have problems with smoothing. I don't know how to use it correctly.

Can somebody help?

I recently joined a team for a ww1 mod on call of duty and all i do is to model the simple weapons.

I use 3d max. Most people that I've seen use that. However, many use Maya and softimage(especially since there is a free version now)

However..if u need some help with smothing your gun models you can take a look at IchII's VTM's he made.

I used to use 3ds max but I switched to Softimage XSI after trying it out.

Use Maya myself, and I dont plan on switching anytime soon.

it's called learning mate, its usually required (along with practice) to get better at something
