What settings for my PC?

Please help I am not having much fun with setting up my game up. It's freezing alot and I only have the game set mostly on medium. I have a AMD athlon 2400+, 1.5GB ram and a ATI 9800 256mb gpu. Is anyone else running similar and how are you getting around this??

When the screen gets busy with lots of action going on it freezes for up to 3 seconds, then when it comes back you are placed where you should have been in that time, so the game is carrying on but the screen only is frozen. Also there is noticable jerkyness on fast spin round.

Yea i have a 9800 Pro 128mb and i play on 1280x1024 on HIGHEST graphics with 4x AA and 4x AF, so stop being baised.


Stuart, i was going to say you dont have enough ram but u definately have enough. You may want to add this particular command parameter "-heapsize 512000" - thats roughly 500mb source allocates of your memory only for use for HL2. By default its 64mb.

Also make sure of the usual, minimal background tasks, defrag, etc.
