Does anybody remeber soldier of fortune 2, man that was a great game. I loved the physical damage on the models, I think it would really add to the raggdoll affect if it had this damage, I always liked using a sniper rifle, and then seeing exactly where I shot him. I really wish they would put this effect, in great games, like Half-life 2, but especially in Doom 3. I would think that the damage effect really doesn't use up that much memory or graphics card peformance. I would still think that the damage models on soldier of fortune, would still look great in modern day games, with no improvement, but man oh man, if they could mix ragdoll with damage model, I would love it, what do you guys think???

they do have that. no dismemberment but you see where your shots hit.

I dont like it because in real life people's faces don't explode from a shot in the face from a 9mm handgun.

SOF2 was crap. Almost as bad as BREED, apart from the damage models.

I know alot of games show a blood spot of where you hit the person, but im talking about shooting off part of the body, like in sof 2. I mean you have to admit that, say if you threw a grenade in counter-strike source, and hit the person, it would be cool to see the body fly across the room with no legs, and see his legs fly in the other direction, but its just a idea, i just think it would be more real in a way. :bounce:

Fragmentation grenade would kind of have to be I guess almost exactly at his belt line, tied to his waist or something, for it to take off his legs.

Real grenades don't explode like a big bomb fire explosion like napalm looking and such, it's shrapnel.

if you get something like 5 well positioned bullets in it, it will. But I agree with the original poster, modern day shooters (Full Spectrum Warrior, CS) and games like Doom 3 should have it. Although I disagree with having it for HL2, HL2 is not about the gore.

Yea, I can see your guys point, it really would be great in Doom 3 but I guess Half-life 2 won't seem right. By the way I found out what the technology was call it was the GHOUL system.

SOF2 might've been the most terrible fps I've ever had the displeasure of playing. :x

Don't get me wrong, I really liked the first SOF, but the second sucked donkey balls..
There's just something about bad level design, boring graphics, weapons (and aiming reticules) that take up half the screen that don't work for me... :hmph:

Well the levels were bad I agree, but what made the game fun to play was the damage zones. So that was I was thinking wouldn't it be cool if like havoc put damage zones in there ragdolls, what you think, or am I the only person here, which it seems that actually like the damage zones. heh =p
