Heya,

So im sure you get a million of these every day, but i thought id ask anyway. I dont have CS:CZ, so i havnt been able to play the CS:S beta.

My Rig:
Athlon 64 3000+
512MB PC3200 kingston value ram
Radeon 9600XT 256MB
Asus K8V Deluxe Mobo

Anyone know what kind of resolutions and framerates i will be able to run at? I know the actual game will be a bit more efficient than the beta, but those of you who have the beta with similar, better or worse systems please let me know how it runs on your rig!

Thanks
Shan

That should get you at least 60-70 fps, maybe even more with the full version.

I would however, suggest upgrading your RAM, its keeping you down

I reckon, if you ran it at high detail, full AA and AF, at 1024x768, you'd be getting framerates somewhere around 30-40 average, possibly more.

Less than that with full AA and AF. I'd recommend 8x6 high detail, or 10x7 medium detail.

I've got a Radeon 9600 Pro 256mb and i have everything on high detail and 2xAF.

Runs fine

What is "runs fine." I prefer 50-70 frames. I'm assuming you're getting 20-40?

Thanks guys

Whats fine dude? XT should outperform pro by a little bit.. so if you are fine i should be fine too

As for the RAM - will an extra 512MB make that much of a difference? i have 256mb of video ram on my card already

Video RAM has nothing to do with system RAM.

Oh yeah, your card doesn't beat mine. 9800 Pro > 9600XT. Seemed like you were insinuating that...

The game will probably be playable on that rig, but I suggest you get another 512MB-brick of RAM and maybe think about getting a new videocard: 9800Pro / XT and if you got some extra cash; X800Pro / XT

hehe

i wasnt insinuating that my xt beats any pro.. i know 9800 pro/xt kicks any 9600 series.

Also - i doubt it will be necessary to upgrade. I was just wondering what framerates i could expect. I know whats better, 9800 pro/xt, x800 pro/xt etc... but theres no need

I really just wanted people with worse, similar or better systems to gimmie an idea of what framerates they can get. Until its released, or they open the beta to everyone, i will have no idea really...

Everyone wants you to upgrade to the biggest and best! Its not necessary hehe

On my machine:

Athlon XP2600+
512MB PC2100 RAM
Radeon 9600 Pro

I can run at high detail, with both full AA and AF, at 1024x768, at around 15-30fps in the VST (averages around 23-25). So I assume he could push 30-40 with his specs, or at least more than I can. :)

Hmm I'll have to check what I get with full AA and AF on when I get home...Also, if you're playing on really big servers, your frames will drop signifcantly with AA on...I know that...

I have:
pentium p4 1.9ghz
1024mb pc800 rdram
pny nvidia fx5200 128mb
FRAMES: 15-30 w/ mat_bumpmap 1
FRAMES: 20-45 w/ mat_bumpmap 0

that by my standards is unacceptible. I have another comp built already just waiting for video card (x800xtpe), but soon I am just gonna buy a 6800gt cause i have been trying to get x800 for 3 months...

New Rig:
AMD64 3200+
ASUS K8V Deluxe
1 GB Corsair XMS PC3200
ATI X800XT PE or BFG nVidia 6800GT OC

all depends what ur standards are...

ya... i like framerates around 70fps...

That systems cool, one up processer on me, same mobo, extra ram.... and a mother of a gfx card hehe

expensive :|

Whats it all costing you? I picked mine up in april for about $1,100 aussie- so about $750-800 USD

well you won't notice any difference above 60fps
That's pritty cheap btw. for that PC, just buy yourself a new BIG videocard..

how much fps will i get?

2.66 ghz
512 ram
GeForce FX 5200

i know my computer sucks but i dont know how to change videocards and stuff like that :(

FX 5600XT 256mb

darksonic, its people like me that don't care what people like you think.

and on topic:

yes, anything over 1000 mhz with a gfx card purchased in the last 3 years will run cs:S just fine.

I got:

amd xp 2400+
1024mb 400ddr
Club3d 9800pro

I get about 50fps on 1024 resolution and everything high no aa or af. But I don't know if it's lag or the fps, but the game is choppy as hell. And to the regular questions I have no viruses, spywares or other shit, not had in years :D
