ever since the Medic update(at least I think that was the one cocking up) I have gotten a severe performance hit.

I've dropped all settings to the lowest and the resolution to the lowest as well...and still the game runs like cock, so it's totally unplayable...this pisses me off!

I haven't changed any system settings that should have any effect, and killing a few of the new processes that has popped up since the original install doesn't do anything.

anyone else have performance problems recently?:frown::frown::frown:

Yeah. I mean, my computer isn't great, but I could play TF2 comfortably on slightly above lowest, which suited me fine. Not really any more, though.

I have performance problems constantly...

I need to upgrade. But anyway, I doubt it was the Medic Pack, there was no real graphics or effect updates. It might just be your PC getting old and weak. (like mine :()

I've been experiencing problems with the gameplay recently. Specifically the game mechanics not working.

I did experience some significantly slower speeds at one point that wasn't related to lag. I couldn't understand what it was. At first I assumed my graphics card was underclocking, but I checked and I hadn't even overclocked it. I restarted TF2 and it didn't pop up again.

I should probably mention this doesn't seem to be linked to just tf2.

HL2DM, CS:S, DOD:S all runs like cock at the moment...I used to be able to play these decently only with fps dips during heavy action.

also steam will now randomly hang when I exit a source game...game overlay UI takes forever to shut down after I close steam...and also the new steamstore when accessed from the steam app. will often not work correctly(links missing, hanging, etc.... internet works just fine)

Stalker uns better than source games at the moment :meh:

You sure your PC hasnt become a large cock.

Penis computers are very deadly I hear.

Every since the Medic update my email has stopped working. &@(@@ VALVE!

The latest Steam update might have fixed these problems. There were several bugs listed which appeared to be linked to potential client-side issues like those we've experienced.

Defrag your TF2 gcf, I'm being dead serious. Seems like it gets hit hard when big updates hit, grab gcfscape and defrag it :)

I've been having some weird problems with it too.

I'm constantly getting randomly disconnected from the friends service all the time and the Goldrush map gives me crazy unplayable net lag.

Nothing besides getting disconnected by client timed out or No connection to vac servers O<<

I've never noticed any performance issues since patch's besides the fact that the multi core functions used to work better for me before the medic patch now TF2 crash's constantly between maps and on custom maps.

When did you last clean out your pc? Mine began running like shit - lockups, freezing, pauses mid game - I bought a can of compressed air, cleaned out the dust bunnies, and now it runs fine again.

I actually just completed cleaned out my PC yesterday.
Took everything out, took an air hose to it.
Scrubbed down the insides, dried it all off, put in a new power supply and replaced the heatsink... and now it runs like a dream.

I was getting artifacts in all of my games yesterday so that's the only reason I did any of that, wasn't even really that dusty but my power supply's fan had shit the bed so I replaced that and voila artifacts are gone.
Heatsink was a bit worn so I put on new paste and put a new fan on there too.
