I'm not really impressed at the moment. I'll show you why..read this quote from the IGN review of PGR3 for X360:

Visually, PGR3 is set up to look absolutely gorgeous when in 720p or 1080i. It's still pretty in 480p, but it looks more like an Xbox game to be honest.

An XBOX game?? I really hope this game impresses me on my NON-HDTV, or I will not be happy. Way to Damn Expensive for an HDTV. I hope this is either bogus, or an understatement. This is not a good day.

EDIT: I just remembered my TV has 16:9 capability that reduces most of the lines and makes it look a lot like an HDTV. Now I feel much better...I hope I'm not disappointed.

From what iv'e heard alot of the games look like original xbox games that are out now. From a person that has actually played the console it looks nothing like the original xbox. I just want to see this bad boy run on my new 32" HD LCD TV:). I'm using it as my pc monitor and as my 360 monitor. Ohh this is going to be the best 22nd of Nov. of my life.

And yeah that was pretty harsh to say that it looks like a xbox game .

Is there a way to plug in the XBOX 360 directly into an LCD monitor with somekind of special plug or do i have to deal with all that S-Video crap?

Microsoft, and other 3rd party companies will be selling a VGA HD cable, that plugs straight into the vga (non-dvi) port of an lcd monitor. Just search for Xbox360 VGA HD Cable in google or something

Shame really, as the 360 games are being based on HDTV, tis the way of the future, f*** crappy Non-HDTV'S or, plug it into ya monitor, if it supports it :E :bounce: :rolling:

Relax guys - I have complete faith that 360 games on a non HD tv will still look great (even more so after outputting some HD vids onto my big tele - PD0 looked very good) We still benefit from all the shiny effects, detailed textures etc etc

Output to your monitor if a higher res is what you're after - i'd take a big screen infront of the sofa everytime, though.

//just make sure you at least buy the RGB cable, and not use the component lead that comes with the machine. Component looks like arse!)

Aye, we just got a f*** off huge TV recently, cannot wait for the release of the 360 now.

Here's something interesting, GTA San Andreas, S-Video = sucks, why? Can't see anything poor quality graphics. PC , DVI = ownage, why? Image is a hell of a lot clearer

But why make HD games better when hardly anyone has HD tvs?

The signal quality and picture quality does not improve the graphics!

VGA just makes whatever the graphics are, it makes them crystal clear

Well the x360 is reported as being 5 times more powerfull than the xbox.

Most of you should know that increasing the resolution of a game in itself uses alot more processing power--possibly doubling the required processing power.
Then take into account increased pollygon count, tons of reflection effects and such and you see where all that increased processing power went.

Trust me, let it all soak in and grow on you and you will never want to go back to low res, low polly, low special effects
