What the hell is EA Games up to now?

My first reaction was "those bastards!"

My second reaction was "what the hell is Knights of Honor?"

The 13 people who bought it are going to be pissed.

When i was trying to install XP SP2 the other day it wouldn't install because of some .dll that daemon tools used. I had to uninstall d-tools before SP2 was able to install.

So i doubt it's EA's fault.

What does EA have to do with this? The games developer is Black Sea Studios, and the publisher is Sunflowers int.

Doom 3 also makes you uninstall [cd copying] software or else it won't run.

oh. well it did for me. It said something like "disable CD Emulation software, DOOM 3 will now exit" on the splash screen. I was using cloneCD.

a game that need that you unnistall a software?

I thinks is competence

Ubisoft did something similar with a patch for Rainbow 6 3.... it wouldn't update if you had alchol or d-tools installed... that last for about a day.

Ya, the their forum database servers exploded from all the flames. Come to think of it, 1 day is about the fastest Ubi has ever done anything..

It's been what? 5 months since the last patch?

Same with doom 3 etc.

rome total war dosent install at all if you have that dll present... **** publishers in they're dumb asses, I hope they burn.

apart from spending their money from all the crappy console games they make? errr, (hopefully) making C&C 3 or something.

I'm not sure about that but I know for a fact that DoomIII has it.

Really? Man that sucks. Its not like Deamon is really illegal, its just a way of copying your games for personal use

EA sucks twice as more now :/

Me = Boycotting EA, (have been since C&C Generals ZH... worst expansion ever - at least Generals was half made by Westwood) but that's another story - I don't think i'm missing much. Wake me when they release a "must have" game. :P

It's an interesting strategy they've got to stop piracy there. The thing is people will hack those particular games themselves.... and disable whateverthefark the thing is using to check for certain software (Which is imo, rather infringing on a user's right to privacy :dozey: - as if we have that). In the end they could actually lose sales, due to people trying to get hold of a version of the game that they can actually run. Ironic really, eh?

EA can go screw themselves, then screw over some console kiddies with their wonderful clone sports line of games. Most PC gamers have worked out their game now, and even if they don't boycott them, they don't respect them much either.

Does anybody here actually respect, or even like EA as a company?

XP SP2 need it removed so it can make a backup of the DLL. This game needs it removed so it can delete the DLL, so it is the game creators fault, it is deliberate.

Heh...

I've never even heard of this game, other games said you cant run them with cd copy stuff (like nero) or daemon tools on it, like doom 3 and the sims 2, never had any issue with them.

My reaction was "EA Games suck anyway, who cares..."

This widespread hatred of EA makes me feel good :)

Buying products with the EA label on it is supporting evil.

Lets see how well the boycott hold up when Battlefield 2 comes out. :P
