What the Hell wierd 8800GTX hl2 glitch

On any source games I have the menu loads fine and as soon as a click one of the options, the screen goes black and the bottom right corner of the screen has a large grey box in it, I can see the pointer and hear its clicking over the menu but cant see anything.

anyone know the cause?

Wait, so do you have an x800 like your sig says or an 8800gtx?

yeah, all that in my sig is toast now, got me a 680i mobo, conroe e6600 chip and a 8800GTX three days ago. should update that really.

lol, actually I fixed it, I found some alienware forceware drivers, 96.98 to be exact, sorted it out completely.
