ok I was having problems with my computer for a while now and just got the balls to reformat and reinstall windows xp. (i thought i was going to lose my steam account when i bought hl2). And i didnt lose account

Ok so now i got firefox, winamp, steam, hl2, ATI newest drivers, sound drivers, mobo drivers, monitor software and CSS installed THAT IT !

And i run CSS @ 800 x 600 w/ everything on medium no AA or no AF
W/ shadows on low.

Abosulty NO PROGRAMS running in the backround.

My specs:

ATI radeon 9600 pro 256 mb, 128-bit
AMD 3000+ (barton)
PC3200 RAM 512 MB
160 GB HD (partitioned)
19" viewsonic p95f+b CRT

does this FPS seem right ?

Maybe its your vid card drivers i dl lastest nvidia drivers and had the worst lag on cs i dl omega drivers and got 72 fps on cs. Well maybe it will help.
