What video settings should I have?

Hi, I've just installed HL2 on my new com, and I want to know what would be the adequate graphics settings for my com.

Processor: 3.2 Ghz Intel
RAM: 1GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon X300 PCI 128MB

I know it's well above the minimum requirements, but i'm a little worried about my card since it's a "low-end" card (from ATI's site, and if the manufacture says it's low-end, then it can't be very good), so what video settings should i play with?

whatever has the stars next to it on the options menu, thats what HL2 recommends and they are usually conservative

Yup, just go for the stuff that's recommended (should automatically be configured that way)

Yes thats pretty much it but if you have a flat panel display (TFT) it would be a good idea to set the resolution same as the screen

1024*768 for 15" usually
1280*1024 for 17" and 19" usually

1024X768 everything maxed with no AA or AF just trilinear. Benchmarks for you card can be found here to prove I am right. 800X600 could also be acceptable if you dont like FPS under 60.
