Okay. Whilst pondering upon thou lovely forum tonight, a horrible thought occured to me.

...WHAT THE HELL WILL HAPPEN WHEN HL3 COMES OUT!!!

...egad. Will this forum be closed and a new one erected in it's place?

Immediatly my thoughts turned to Toll Booth Willie. I thought of his slim, secksy body contorting into dust as Moderators such as teh Banimal and Euille begin their horrid work crunching thousands of profiles into oblivion.

I have made short term preperations for this impending doom (offering teh baykuns etc...) but wat will happen in the long run?

I ask you Moderators... will we be saved?
 
Keep this site. If this site goes down, find refuge at zombie master forums while the provisional administration make us a new site.

That would at least be the sensible way to go about it.
 
I guess then they'll just remove the "2" from the name and it'll be simply HL.net Forums.

You are forgetting my new rule. Bacon = ban.

This forum will probably continue despite what titles come out, for now we are sitting pretty with the Episodes oozing out occasionally, so for the time being, all is well.

It's fairly safe to assume at this point that there will never be a Half-Life 3. Valve has NEVER said it will be a trilogy and has never confirmed the existence of a third addition to the series - the HL2 episodes are going to be the end of Half-Life, or at least that's how it looks now.

I remember when I first joined, All the HL2 and off-topic forums had 70-100 people in them.
BAh. 10-50 now.

I've been here for years and it's had its ups and downs. Back before you registered it was alot more dead than it is now.
 
its okay......they've just filtered out the untouchables. Leaving the smart ones here to thrive! :)

As MiccyNarc said; many of us have been here for quite a while (this past New Years was the 3 year mark for me, as I registered on the last day of 2003), and we've seen the forum much less active than this before. It has its swings.

Halflife2.net is not going anywhere or dying in the forseeable future, or at least while I'm still here, and I pledged like a year ago to not leave until it went down, so I guess I'll be here a while :)
