What will the hostages be like?

Can you imagine, with the source engine if valve wants too the hostages could end up being really really cool?

A: The hostage sees their is a weapon on the floor, so in trying to keep himself alive he picks up the shotgun and starts going to town on the terrorists.

B: Now that models can show emotion, just imagine what the hostages could do.
"Anything, You heard me the goverment will pay anything for my release" *Terrorist turns corner**Hostage flips the terrorist the bird*

And those are just things that i thought of that source could do!

Could the reason we arent playing hostage maps be that valve wants to suprise us with some god like AI and realisticity of the hostages?
 
Those have nothing to do with the Source engine. Both of those ideas could've been implemented into the original CS.
 
Hostages AI sucked utteraly in CS and their wasnt nearly as good of animation system as exsists in source. It would be much better done and also easyer to do this with source.

I thought I read somewhere a long time ago that the hossies was supposed to have a great AI. They would run away if you didn't watch them, they would point to where the T's were if a CT approached while T wasn't guarding the hostage.. +++ I might have seen it in a video, rather than reading it.

Perhaps I was just dreaming though..
 
the Hostages in CZ are really a great improvement, chasing one with a knife and making it scream is funny as hell, and there responses to events were alot more life like, i can only imagine it better with source.
 
Ya that was CZ. I never bought that. Im playing CSS with a ATI voucher
 
wimpering noobs that die easily of course and they will get stuck in walls, like the first one!

I've seen CZ hostages escape on their own and win the round for the CTs while the last two living people were busy camping.

If the hossies would try and run to safety if the T's weren't guarding them then that would make it very interesting because that would stop the T's just leaving their own camp in search of the CT's. Also, if you could grab one of the hossies and use them as a shield or bate (i.e. Order them to run out into a hall, otherwise you will nail em...).

If they would also shout "HELP!" if they were in a secret location and you could just hear their faint cry for help.

Soooooooooooo many possibilities!

This happens in CZ.

[edit] you can't grab hostages, and they yell for help when you're nearby, they don't hide in secret spots.
 
Yey!! hostage AI!! maybe they will have the F****n brains to clilmb ladders again lol. :afro: If not then its :sniper: lol
