<Sighs> Rightyho folkypoos. The "flare gun" is not the Gauss Gun (aka Tau Cannon. Except that name sounds sh*t) it's called, I believe, the I-Rifle and by all accounts both sets bad people on fire, as in the Tunnels video; or makes bad people disintegrate, as in the Strider effect (which sounds like a bad novel).
If the Gauss Gun has made a return then, to my knowledge, it has not been officially announced.

Actually the Gauss Gun (Tau Cannon) has made a return. It is on the bonnet of the buggy...

I see the manipulator as a tool instead of a weapon.

I ended up going with the Pheromone Grenade because I like having an armie at my disposal. Plus, this grenade is just as inventive as the manipulator and can even do more damage. I kid you not.

I think you guys are mean the grenade launcher, that gun that shoots the red grenade and starts the combine soilders on fire and they fall over the banister to their flaming death. That would be my second choice but you can do so much more with the manipulator/anti-gravity gun.

I'd have to say the pistol, it has just the right qualities to it. The sound, the size, mmm the way it shoots. When I first saw it in action, I loved it. When I saw the video where he starts out by the harbor and tries to barricade himself in that building. The part where he starts shooting the gaurd down the steps. I new that those rounds were penetrating into that aliens body, and I know he was in pain (cmon I'm trying to be creative), you know he felt it. He was like "Aww fuk dat hurt!!" so he gets pissed and starts to light up freeman. But anyway, yeah, I like that pistol. Its da BOMB.
