What would you do for 10 Billion Dollars?

Here's a question for you out there...


There are 10 guns on a table one of them loaded...and you had to pick one up and take it to you head and pull the trigger. Would you do it for 10 Billion? 100 Billion? 1 Trillion? How about just 5 guns with 1 loaded?

Oh.. and nobody gets the money if you die...and you have to pick it up and pull the trigger right away...no weighing the guns or looking in the chamber...

This is complete chance we're talking about here.



If you think about stuff like this from Swordfish...would you be willing to kill an innocent child if it somehow ended all the world's diseases and problems? How about 10? How about 100? Would you do justify the means with the end?

This could actually be a serious discussion if people choose to keep it that way.

EDIT: Another... what if you were the person that had to die? Would you willingly commit suicide for the world? I know I would.. but I'd choose how I die..

with the gun thing, you either win or your dead and wont be in a position to worry about that anymore

nah only joking. i wouldn't play that game for shit.

EDIT: and yes i'd do it all. 5 guns, 10 guns, for disease...i especially like the killing other people part.
 
fixed it. slipped my mind seeing as how playind DX2 was such an outlandish feat for that amount of money.
 
dude, i wanna be a hero! 1? 10? sheeyit, i'd kill hundreds to save the world without blinking. i'd kill millions, billions even! whatever it took. how ****ing heroic is that?

naw, i wouldn't take the one in 10 chance for any amount of money, i like being alive too much to risk it.

Think of it this way, if someone approached you and said they needed to take your life in order to solve all problems & cure all illness, would you say "no"?
 
As for the one loaded gun in ten thing. Yes I'd do that because chances are in your favour. If you lost you'd never know it and if you won then you could do whatever you wanted for the rest of your life.

For 100 billion dollers, i would pretty much do anything, includeing shooting myself, if needed

And if killing one child could stop everything like canser etc etc, duh of coruse I would, what a stupid question, who would value one life over millions?

edit: Timmy, wheres your trust! Someone took all my money in a dark ally once, but its allright, cus he said it was going to a good cause, also when he raped me he said it was for a good cause too, what a nice man.

How would that person feel?
How would that childs parents feel?
How would you feel knowing that you took a childs life?
Could you live with yourself?

I would feel good cus I saved the world!

And yea I could live with myself, I would get high from killing more people, it would become like a hobby to me!

Its interesting to see peoples opinions on this sort of thing...



My friend was saying in maths the other day that Mathematicians are probably the most likely people to become genocidal maniacs because they see people as statistics. Where as arty people would prefere to look at each indivual.


Now, I am fairly logical/mathematical and also quite creative. So I think i see the plus side of takeing the life just fine. But to see the person if front of me asking me to kill them. I don't know if I could deal with that........

aha.. exactly, thats the response I expected, I imagine most would say that, including myself, but imagine if you were actually in that situation, you'd just cheated death and made yourself a billionaire..

At that point you'd probably be thinking your unbeatable. I reckon the temptation to try your luck a second time and double your money would be too much, I can even see some people doing it again and again, addicted to the rush until BLAM! dead. Basically due to addiction to gambling, but of course with much higher stakes than a slot machine in Vegas :)

oh i mean "you" as in a general use of the word you, as in us, as in you all, us all, not you directly :)

Personally I don't *think* I would ever do it in the first place. As I said before, it just aint worth riskin dieing for in my opinion. Money I mean. I mean is it really all that important. I would rather just take what money i have, go to a club. Chat up a girl and live a happy life :p

Pick up two guns, if they weigh the exact same you know neither is loaded, but yeah id pull the trigger on one.

I wouldnt end disease, death is inevitable and needs to remain so.
 
for the child, im betting that there is some child out there that you could kill that was going to die anyway.
for the guns, sure id try it, chance is fun. hell i would do it with only 2 guns.

What if you couldn't use a gun? What if you had to do it brutally in order to satisfy the wishes of the person that is getting rid of all the world's problems?

Basically what I'm asking is...What are the bounds of peoples' morality and how far people are willing to go for money or for the greater good?


For the 10 guns..if you were offered 10 billion for each trigger pulled? How many would you pull? I'd prolly pull a couple...maybe 3. For 5 guns..would you pull a second?
 
In regards to the gun game, I would rather not gamble with the most valuable thing I have. No amount of money could make me change my mind.

I would not be able to kill an innocent child to rid the world of sickness and disease. I couldn't kill any innocent human, in any way, even for something like a perfect world.

In regards to giving my own life for the greater good of a perfect world, honestly, yes I would.

That's exactly my point. We're all "already dying", it's just a matter of speed. However, the speed that death approaches us at becomes void at the fact any one of us could die in a freak accident within the next five seconds or one hundred years.

It's kinda freaky. One minute you're alive and the next minute you're :x

Don't worry though, most gamers get an ingame funeral service provided by close online mates and community members that knew you.
 
i would drown a baby if it would rid the world of disease, murder, and all the bad stuff...i would just have to kill my self after because i wouldnt be able to live with myself. YES i would do anything though.

As for money, i would kill a drifter but thats it for killing. I would play roulete too.

yea id take a whole preschool out to take all disease and problems outta the world. the kids will have another life anyway.
