What would you do if you lost your WASD fingers in an accident?

I'm being serious, I almost lost my left hand in shop class. It made me wonder what would become of my beloved gaming hobby had I lost those precious digits.

1 handed controller... not just for one handed people

:naughty: :naughty:

seriously??? i'd probably learn to game w/ one hand or get a special controller... otherwise i'd kill myself

Weird, I just thought of this exact scenario and how horrible it would be...although I guess losing any limb or appendage is pretty awful.

Euuhghg! Sorry I have this ultra-aversion to the loss of fingers and eyes. If I did lose a finger I'd probably frantically try to tape it back on, mumbling gibberish. ack I've got to get out of this threa...

Imagine if you will, all of a sudden your fingers start just plopping off and falling onto the ground. You're in a mall and no one can hear you. People are walking all over your fingers and you can't find them all. You're bleeding all over the place and your eye starts to itch. The mall's so full of noise and everyone's just going about their business ignoring you. Then your left eye falls out.

I guess I could play CRPGs and Strategy titles.

He's lying everyone.

He told me he was going to create this sebject earlier, after a conversation on what I'd do if I got my WASD fingers shot off in combat.

That's the first I've heard of this.

Ahh, I see it now! ...or not. Don't mind me. I'm just being an ass.

if one hand, learn to control mouse with the disabled hand, and use/make a lefty keyboard....fireing and such would be a pain though...

this is why I Block with my right hand though. ;)

With what you quoted that was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time

Anyway, what would i do?

Play more strategy games?
Before that i would try to get them put back on, or possibly see if there was a donor. Otherwise i would just learn to use my right hand for the keyboard and my left with its little finger and thumb for the mouse.

If I lost my WASD fingers/hand I would immediately begin to send lot's of money to those guys researching that mind reading tech. Then I would have a little band around my head, and probably play better than when I had my WASD fingers. ahh

I think I might send some money to those guys anyways...

I'd program extra buttons on my mouse and make a pitiful attempt to replace WASD.

I would put my ass into it... Don't know how that will work though, but that's what I would've done...

...and I'l cut off my fingers!

In retrospect that wasn't a good idea. I'm feel..in..*thump*

They will probably be able to grow you new fingers soon enough anyway. That mind control thing would be interesting, i remember on the discovery channel they showed a man who couldnt move his body or talk, but they put an electrode into his brain in the area which controls hand movements, and hooked it up to a computer. He was then able to move a cursor around on the screen....It was very cool.

I read an article about it on www.popsci.com

I think it's under science and biotechnology. Has a part about a monkey being hooked up to a mechanical arm that was in a different room. They taught the monkey to move the mechanical arm just by thinking. They also taught him how to move a mouse on a computer screen just by thinking it.

EDIT-Doh! Didn't read your whole post. Beat meh to it.

No more sticky keys? What do you use your computer for? :O

ummm.... :naughty:

Have you ever tried eating cheetos while playing games or just surfin the web. It sucks. ^_-

I can honestly say...No. However, i have tried eating a range of different sweet foods that are sticky so i know what its like :)

Aw damn, I never thought about that before, I would... well I would end myself because life would no longer be worth living. Toes just simply won't cut it, and neither will trying to get my GF to use her left hand while I aim the mouse, that one already failed.

Actually it would be my arrow key fingers, but same thing.

I'd be more worried about playing sports again than video gaming. I don't plan to play video games until I'm 30.

I plan to golf til I'm in the grave however.

Guess you won't be enjoying HL2 for another 14 years :( Unless you meant you don't plan to play videogames at 30..

During the summer, I have a tradition with my friend where we play Diablo 2 coop (V 1.10 wohoo). Since he is finished with classes and I am in the middle of finals, we decided to start Diablo 2 back up again. It feels so weird not having to use the WASD keys during the game. I don't know what would happpen if I lost my Wasd fingers.
