Your company is going out of business and they're giving away equipment to some of their workers (you). You have two kids and they both want a laptop. One of the kids has a desktop that works fine, but just wants a laptop for school work and portability. The other has no computer at the current time, but in the past, he sold off his computer for money and then began using an old laptop. The laptop ends up breaking a couple weeks before they learn about the laptops. Who do you give the laptop to? (Assuming you plan to give it to one of your kids and not keep it for youself)

What I was suggesting was to give the desktop computer to the kid with no computer or to have them both share it on the conditions that the kid who already owns a computer will get a laptop. The kid with no computer won't complain since he is at least getting something, and the kid with the desktop computer may be willing to share or part with it in return for a new laptop.
